Default HITEC CRX/SRX

I own a CRX to run a spektrum TX in. I have done an inside antenna mod to the radio. If any are interested in the mod I may post pics. Overall it has been a great radio. I am currently looking for a larger steering wheel and would like to know what others have mounted to their CRX's. The 3PK wheel looks like it will fit with a little shimming, but thats as far as I've got with it. Anyways, here's the thread starter, shoot away.

i'd like to see some pics, I was looking to try it after I got a new module. Can you post some info on it as well. How hard was it to do the mod?

hey dogbones, i have the srx aggressor ch70 75.590. i was looking to improve it to a spektrum and did some searching and wasn't 100% on which one i need. the price was about 140(can't be sure), i know that this radio is only worth 120ish, so is the spektrum module and rx worth it over getting a new radio for 200- 250. I like this srx and only race once a year and would also like the telemetry (lap counting) module if it will work because i own my own track and race here lots. Thanks Dan

I'm using the older TX/RX set. P/N - SPM1000 for the TX and SR3000+SR3001 RXs. I got mine used, so I don't have much invested in the system, maybe 80 for the radio and 90 for the 2.4 combo, 170 total. If you don't have many cars the cost to go 2.4 is acceptable in my opinion. I don't know anything about the telem stuff and have only seen people with it on Spektrum radios. For my more expensive cars I run a 3PK/FASST setup.

I paid $109 for my SRX and $170 for my Pro system. I've used mine for about 1 year for bashing with no problems. I'm getting a T4 soon and i'm gonna try my hand at club racing.

I have been using a CRX for a couple years now. Changing some things (like servo reversing) is a little annoying, but overall it works pretty well. I think I'm going to get some grip tape and make a thicker grip. I already have the rubber pads, but it's still not big enough. A larger wheel would help as well. Since my foam grip is basically shot, maybe I'll see what I can come up with for a larger one.

After I get a racing speedo i'm gonna play around with the wheel and throttle trigger tension a bit and tune it to my liking.

I recently picked up some handlebar wrap from a bicycle shop. You'll get enough to do all your radios. And for the wheel, I removed the foam and wrapped the plastic wheel with black electrical tape till the OD was just large enough to press into a 1/10 foam wheel.
