Looking for opinions on an older radio.
Hi all,
Been thinking about ending a long break from racing cars and started digging through my gear. Needless to say, some bits have aged better that others, but to my point.
I have a Futaba 3PK , FASST module and receiver. It works, and range checks well, but the batteries are done. Should I worry about causing or having problems with this older protocol 2.4ghz system?
FWIW, I was looking at running USGT.
Regards,

I have a 3PK,,,.. I have the spectrum module and receiver..
I got the radio and receiver used like 10 years ago... still works well.
I got a new lipo battery for my 3PK, 4-5 years ago.
my Tekin RS gen 1 speed controller and 17.5 gen 1 motor is 10 years old.. I got them new.

If they work, no point in upgrading. The FASST receivers are overpriced for sure. Even used receivers command a high premium resale price. That reason alone is why my next Futaba will be one of the FHSS system radios. I'll still keep my FASST system radio until it dies, but might have to try one of those FASST compatible receivers for my bashers.

Thanks all. Most of what I have left is for nitro, so literally everything battery powered is in need of batteries. Looks like I may be in need of a transponder too. Local track has drone racing, so my transponder probably wont work there.
Only car I have left is an old Ofna 9.5, quick enough for most club racking, but struggled past that, in my hands at least.

I have an AMBrc DP. It's seen better days, but I've never had an issue with it functioning properly.
Per an older post on this forum, the track is using an RC4 system. I would have to ask at the track to be 100%.

I verified with the track, my transponder will work. Sounded like it would stay that way for the foreseeable future.
