Default 1/8 offroad track edging options

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong section.

The Esperance Bay RC Car Club (EBRCCC) have just built our new track in Esperance and we're looking for better options for mounting the edging in place. The current metal pins aren't very car friendly we are usin a mix of ship mooring rope an black plastic piping.

Thanks for any input.

What your doing looks just fine. Most tracks use 4" corrugated drain pipe and 12" spikes. 100' rolls are 60-70 dollars at HD. Some special order Yellow for a bit more money.

You can use spikes with washers and short elastic cords. Put the spike with the washer in the ground on the backside of the tubes and use the elastic cord to wrap around the tube and attach it to the spikes.

I can tell you that the yellow tile (usually 4") that is made by Baughman Tile Company will not last as long as the black tile if used outside; it will get brittle over time because it has less UV resistance than the black. Saying that though, I prefer the yellow since it is easier to see, and I work for one of the black tile companies.

Thanks for the replies we ended up going with a metal pin with 2 washers welded to the top hammered in level with the ground an large cable ties looped around the pipe or mooring rope.
