Interested in making the trip. Have a few questions.

-Any information on track size and specs?
-What are local hotels?
-Are there pit accomodations? Power?
-What does the current entry count look like?
-Will the tires have to be purchased at SRS or can we bring unopened packs for tech?

Thanks in advance.

To answer a few of the questions:

Track is 100x60 (rough estimate) Paved & Sealed Asphalt.
Power is available. Please bring your own tables and chairs.
Last year netted over 100 entrants (I believe).

I am unsure about the club race as of now. We do not carry any tamiya parts. We only stock Losi, HPI, Associated & X-Ray. Call Scott @ 480-945-2186 for information regarding the entry over the phone. I believe a fee is added to phone in entries if accepted.

The track will be open all day for practice on Friday. If they run a touring car club race on Thursday night (like they did last year) the track will be in really good shape on Friday morning so you could start practicing as soon as the sun comes up. The track is lighted and the lights are on timers so they stay on pretty late. Racing will start at 10:00am both Saturday and Sunday. There will be 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday and one round on Sunday followed by the mains. Scott does an excellent job making sure the race starts on time and moves along on schedule (just ask anyone who has been to the Cactus Classic) so everyone should get out of there at a reasonable time on Saturday and Sunday. Also this is a bring your own motor race so you don’t have to worry about getting a handout motor tuned up at the track.
