Just want to point out to you that when I talked to DAK about what types of changes they made to their cars on the 8th scale side, he said none except slightly thinner shock oils due to the temps.
I think most of us spend too much time chasing setup rather than learning the track picking the proper tires. Also I can tell you that every time I went out on EBuggy it was different. I could have had 20 hours of practice... wouldn't have mattered LOL.

The best run practice I ever saw was the 2012 Midwest Champs when Big Steve ran the show. 12 cars assigned to a practice heat, 15 cars on the track per heat. 3 people each run were pulled from a standby line. If people don't show up for their heat, then you take more from the standby line. This ensures that everyone at least gets some track time, and those who want more can wait in line. With over 400 entries the line was still very short, and I never waited more than 3-4 runs to get on the track. It really does work well at big events. The 1/10 track has around 400 entries as well so I don't see why it wouldn't work there. Friday is easily the most frustrating day of the weekend. For 2015 I timed my wait and I waited a total of 6 and a half hours in line for 2 classes throughout the day. There's definitely a better way.

Never hurts to be early and I missed Motorama last year, so I'm pumped to make it back.
