Carl the last 2 Roar region races we had on the previous years we did use the body mentioned by you before. (Protoform, sweep and blitz) without any issue.
Even at the nationals there were no problem with the bodies.

Regarding the new sweep tires... They should be good to go because the roar rules say that the only tire not allowed is Foam, also any dish wheel type of rim.

Per ROAR: "Any commercially available factory licensed replicas of ALMS, GT1 or GT2, Super GT, DTM, and V8 Supercar Cars. Licensed Bodies required for ROAR Competition starting 1/1/2015. For 2014 any commercially available body that resembles a GT body. Body must be a 2 seater with 2 doors. 1. Sports Cars: Closed wheel cars designed specifically for racing in full-size series. Engine Head may not protrude above body."

Please confirm which bodies are allowed. From my limited time at Floyd the most popular bodies appear to be the Protoform, Sweep and Blitz. However, I do not see the Sweep body on the ROAR approved list per the ROAR site? These are the only bodies approved?

1/8 LMP Desoto Racing PN 31537 MTB001/EFRA31535
1/8 LMP Desoto Racing/Blitz 60412
1/8 LMP Desoto Racing/Blitz 60413
1/8 LMP Matrix Tires USA MT-B001
1/8 LMP PROTOFORM PF 1533
1/8 LMP Protoform PF1504 (EFRA35512)
1/8 LMP Protoform PF1523
1/8 LMP PROTOFORM PF1530 (EFRA31525)
1/8 LMP Shepherd EFRA 31524 31524

Also: are the new 1/8th GT Sweep tires ROAR approved? I know they were just approved by IFMAR and with that said are the older Sweep tires ROAR approved. Not looking to cause problems just expect to see some consistency with the rules so we can prepare accordingly. If I need to purchase new equipment, so be it just want to make sure I'm not purchasing the wrong equipment for this race.
Bodies: For 2014 any commercially available body that resembles a GT body. ROAR updated this part of the rule to "Any commercially available body that resembles a GT body keeping GT racing spirit." in beginning of 2015

Sweep Tires: We didnt change tires, cause of time frame rules. we only changed wheels this time. all the "new tires set" is same tires but just wheels are new. therefore yes we can use on the ROAR and IFMAR events on or after 8/28/2015. wheel released on 7/28/2015.

hope this help you.

thanks for the responses... this helps. John are you going to or if Tom going to have tires available for sale at the race. I hope you're producing yellow rims!!!

With regards to motors, what this BS I hear about a 5+2 port motor? Even my 6 year old knows that 5+2 = 7

just saying!

thats true because they the races you referred to were in 2014, when the rules were vague. I did not see the change to the body rule posted on the ROAR website which John Lee referred to. I'm glad he cleared that up before I sent bodies to Dean for painting.

With tires, I was more concerned with running the older tires versus the newer ones. I still had some older tires laying around and thought since John was making a new rim to comply the older rims would be illegal. Sounds like its all good, so I'm good to go for this event.

I could not find all the results today from the GLC but I did see our own Phil T. making the A-main in 1/8th. Nice job Phil. How did everyone else do in Sedan and GT?

Both you guys were throwing down some fast laps. You need to trim your front lip. Making the left after the crosstown your body would bottom out and your front end was washing out. Worth a tenth there...
