The timing system is still broke. I was there today. The track surface is really falling apart. Needs some heavy maintenance bad!

Dang must of been a 1/8 that broke the loop on the lap timer lol . That's the downside to pure clay its harder to dig in to fix something .

There hasn't been racing im not surprised that the track surface is like that it usually happens .

It has been falling apart for awhile, I work with dirt every day I'm a heavy equipment operator and It needs a inch of water sitting on top of it for a good day and to soak in and then sealed with a plate tamper or tilled up its shrinking beyond belief and it's getting out of control, I have nothin but respect for everyone at railyard and don't mean to come off harsh but if this track wants to get huge turnouts it needs maintained before anything, I will volunteer to help if that's what it takes..

I've said this before, if the track falls apart and isn't consistent, people will stop coming. I know they water it, maybe not enough and they stopped tamping it months ago. That's when all the cracks started showing up. I was told the owner thinks tamping it makes it not able to soak up water but, that doesn't seem right.....

The sprinklers run for like 10min which is not even close to enough, and there are a lot of low spots on the track so the highspots dont get wet, clay shrinks, you have to get water into the cracks and soak the track to try to merge the cracks and tamp the top, once the clay has plenty of moisture again the sprinklers running ever night would be plenty of moisture, to much moisture and you will get pot holes and extremely soft clay, the track just needs water to fix the cracks or tilled, and then it wont be so hard to maintain, if it was mixed it would hold together better but then you have to deal with other kinds of track maintenance depending on what you mix it with
