Default large race layouts/practice etticate

Just wondering if it's just me or others feel the same about large race layouts and practice? It seems that allot of the larger races(roar, etc ) I go to out of town the layout is several weeks old or sometimes older with a change or two from what they been racing on. I know at my local tracks if we are having a big race it is a fresh layout and no one touches it till scheduled practice for the event so it is as fair as possible even though the locals know the dirt better at least everyone from in town and out have same amount of track time. I feel like I am at a huge disadvantage when the locals have had a month on a track and kinda makes me think twice about attending.

The fast will be fast, why waste money on track rebuilds. Maintain the one you have and make it the best it can be. Daytona, Indianapolis never change and they are the mecca of motor sports.

+1 Locals having an unfair advantage is a myth in most instances.

To be honest if a layout at any track stays the same for a while locals will have a advantage it's a fact. inless your a pretty fast driver it doesn't matter where you go at .

Most of the tracks i go to i know I'm a underdog to the regulars and i don't mind that though .

I feel i could get better on tighter smaller tracks that's my weak point .

Fresh layouts at big events would be great. BUT .... the track is green and will change and have blowout issues etc. Better I think to not have a totally fresh track so it remains somewhat consistent throughout the event. Depending on the location and the dirt of course.
