Just an observation...

Why have a "big" race on a Friday? Seems attendance will still be just the regulars. I don't see how this is any different than a weekly club race personally.

Being that were not allowed to run on Saturday anymore due to a legal agreement with the borough of mt
Joy Friday is the only night we have permission to run till 11pm believe me we wish we could run on the weekend. Also with a month notice gives plenty of time for anyone to re work their schedule and we hope to bring new faces in. even this Friday iv seen new racers I've never seen before we had 40 entries and it was only a club race so were hoping for the best for the big event.

Wow not allowed to run on Saturday...I hate to say it, but the track needs moved outside the borough limits...those people are stupid. Guess they don't want more guys showing up and buying food at the local restaurants or filling up at the local gas stations.

We used to be able to run nitro into the night on Saturdays. First it was no nitro at night, then it was no nitro at all, now it's no electric on Saturdays (but you can still practice on Saturday). Meanwhile, homeowners can run their lawnmowers & weed wackers, and have their loud kids screaming all day on Saturday.

I agree it's a P.I.T.A. to try to get out there early but like Mike said with a months notice it can be done. I guess one of the big differences is it's a sponsored event which means lots of door prizes, raffles, etc. Also I believe there are going to be trophies for top 3 in each class including all young guns will receive at ribbon. Lots of pics/vids will surely be taken. Also as Mike said I'm sure we'll see some new faces along with the regulars.

But the thing is there's only a limited number of spots open so register early to ensure you can race.

What I think it is was the people next store complained about the loud speakers on a Saturday race because the were having a picnic and it was disturbing them but I'm sure there were other issues but I'm sure jim could ask permission to run Saturday.

If someone talking over a loudspeaker and RC cars disturb your picnic, you should probably never throw a party again....ever.

should have walked over and cranked up their music so they didn't hear the PA and RCs

Or given them more beer so they wouldn't care about the RC noise...

I would caution about moving this race to the following day (Sat. the 30th). That is the Eastern States race at Family Hobbies in NJ...that race has been held for almost 30 years and there are a few guys around here that would go. I am sure you would still get the local crowd, you may not get some of the other guys who can make it to Pit Stop on a Saturday. 3 years ago we had 2 Saturday races all year, and both had pretty good attendance, plus you got practice all day/night (till 10ish) on Friday with your race entry. I am sure you could get approval for 1 or 2 Saturday races in the future.

Still sucks about those neighbors...we need to evict them somehow!

You mean the township or borough or whatever won't allow ONE single saturday race the entire season? I can understand not having one every week or even once a month, but really, not even one?? Wow.... Even the friday club racing is what has kept me from EVER making it down there. If you guys could ever have some saturday or sunday races I'd be there for sure.
