Railyard Hobbies-Summer Racing
RC Racing is Back at Railyard Hobbies this Summer.
And since racing should be fun and enjoyable for everyone we have added a few perks to make it even more so.
Summer Schedule: All Saturdays
July 12: Milkshake Saturday Racing - All racers entered receive a free milkshake at Sonic Drive-In
July 19: Saturday racing
July 26: Christmas in July Weekend - Entry fees will be with a Toy for Tot donation for each entry
Aug 2: Saturday racing
Aug 9: Root Beer Float Saturday- All racers entered will receive one freshly made Root Beer Float
Aug 16: Ice Cream Cone/Cup Saturday- All Racers entered will receive a fresh scooped cone/cup of ice cream.
Entry Fee: $12 for the first class, $8 for the second
Race Classes:
2wd Stock Slash
2wd Stock SCT
2wd Modified SCT
2wd Modified Buggy
I have also inquiries about other classes such as Stadium truck, 4wd buggy and 4wd SCT. If you there are four racers for the class then we will run the class. So get your friends together and come race.
Track doors will open at 8AM and Heats will begin at 11:30AM
These will not be points races. All class winners on each Saturday will win a $25 store gift card. We will also continue having a door prize which will be awarded to one of the entered racers each Saturday.
And just to put the proverbial cherry on top of all this fun. It is presently 83 degrees outside our stores front door right now. But the track area is a comfortable 73 degrees. Air conditioning is a wonderful thing.

Just moved to the area and looking to come out sometime this summer if possible. Is the 2wd buggy class a go most of the time? If not, what is the most popular class. I'm an onroad guy, but I believe this is the closest offroad track to me in Macungie.
Also, when you say stock, what rules apply? True roar stock? I've run places that have stock rules that are house rules, just wondering what I need to keep with the rules.
What are the tires that work well and consistently in your 2wd buggy and 2wd short course classes?
Thanks for the help!

some people run slicks others run ions typos dirt webs bar codes handle bars etc. the lower profile the tread pattern the better and just like any other track the conditions change from heat to heat so if you have clay tires bring what you have. the shop also has all of these treads including slicks. stock short course is 17.5 no boost gearing is fine. or box stock. Slash stock class is box stock slash. as for buggy it is consistent here mod act is the hottest class buggy was second a lot of act guys got buggys for this year though. so we will see hope to see you here.

Is the box stock slash class with brushed motors?

yes if its box stock your good meaning you opened the box and didn't do anything to make it faster with a esc or motor if you have a upgraded esc or motor that is a 17.5 turn motor or higher your in stock short course if you have a lower turn motor then 17.5 your in mod short course hope to see you there.

I heard there are some spots on the driver stand that block your view on some spots on the track and that the locals no where to stand is this true

I agree with flagger, not a big deal and they are working on a solution for it.
