I would like to take a moment to thank the many of you that have been posting information about my store and track. You have all been a tremendous help by posting and that has allowed me to concentrate on getting the store running on strong footing. Now I hope I can step in your shoes and continue the positive information.

Some info for those who might be seeing this for the first time:

Railyard Hobbies
1000 Heritage Drive
Elverson, Pa 19520

We are open 7 days a week both retail store an track. The track opens approx 30 minutes after the store and closes 30 minutes before the store.

The track is 100% red clay and we provide marshals on the weekends and evenings.

We will be running 3 racing leagues a year. 11 week spring and fall league and a 5 week late summer. We are 100% climate controlled with 4 5-ton HVAC systems. So we will be shirt sleeve comfortable year round.

Race Fee's: $15 for the first class and $10 for the second.
Practice Fee: $20 for all day and $10 for the after 5PM matinee.

We are presently in the middle of our first ever 11 week racing league.
Remaining Schedule:
March 8: Race #5
March 15: Race #6 , St. Patrick's Day go for the green racing
March 22: Race #7 , Racer's Edge/Savox Race
March 29: Race #8
April 5 : Race #9
April 12: Race #10 Easter Egg Hunt
April 19: Race #11

Winners of each class receive a $25 store gift card and all entries are entered in a Race Day door prize worth $90-125.

Classes being run:
SCT: Stock, 2wd modified and 4wd
Buggy: Stock, 2wd modified and 4wd

If we get at least 4 entries we run the class.

We run 3 round of 5 minute heats starting at 11:30 with 30 minutes between Round 1 and Round 2 so that everyone has a chance to grab something for lunch. 15 minutes between rounds thereafter. The 4th round is for the mains. Track lane width is min 10ft so we do a max of 10 racers in any race.

We have beverages and snacks on site as well as having an Arby's, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Sonic nearby as well as two pizza places that will deliver to the store.

If you come to practice for the day there is no issue with your leaving for food just please keep your time away quick as we often have 20-40 on a weekend non race day running their vehicles.

I view the store/track as a family destination so don't be afraid to bring your kids or loved ones. In addition to the track we have a 17,000 sq ft hobby store attached with two train layouts, a 12x32 slot car track(opening for rentals next week), a new mini z track(also opening for rentals soon) as well as all manner of RC products and other hobby items.

if you have any questions please post them here. I want to be helpful and answer your issues. If you have a problem while on the track please find me as I do practically live at the store. You can also call or email.

I will be posting soon our current points standings so please watch for that as well as the weekly race results.

As has been noted on several threads I am new with RC but I am a quick study. I have built a nice track and store and I plan on being around for some time to come. With all of your support we will be able to continue growing and add on to what is already here.

Thank you and I will be posting again soon.

Paul

Had a fun day today but no other 2wd sct so all my Son got in was some good practice time. Afterwords we were walking around the shop and seeing that its a large 2wd SCT contingent, I bought him a Racers Edge Pro2 TREK Short Course Truck which is a nice starters car.. Got it home and ran it out on the street and it pretty darn fast.. Now to get some good shocks and tires and come on back to race !

You have any questions about the Pro 2, let me know. My 2wd Buggy handled good for being set up for 17.5 Blinky. I don't know when I'll be able to get back to Railyard, but the place does have huge potential. I also got to practice my Racers Edge 4wd SCT for a bit today, and I do believe that the track is perfect for 4wd SCT racing.

For all those looking for a climate controlled track(meaning air conditioned) to race this summer when you are not on one of the many fine outdoor tracks near our track watch here in the next week or so for our summer racing series to be announced. We have over 20ton of HVAC to keep the track area chilled to a nice 73 degrees. We also have real dirt jumps made of real clay that test a drivers skill and nerve. Watch also for information on the drivers stand(yes we are changing it) and also a look at the track redesign coming in late August.

Man you missed it there was 7 of us racing the 4wd sc.

They ran good on the track grated way overpowered i had to turn down my throttle EPA to 87% . The fastest lap times were in the 17s my fastest was in the 18s. Only finished the main but started last and got 3rd ! I had issues trying to finish the heat races.

Ever thought about handicap accessible drivers stand??

paulbleile 04-08-2014 06:08 PM

We have at present a handicap platform for racing. There are few sight issues we discovered after the track layout was installed. We will be working to fix those sight lines when we tweak the layout and rebuild the jumps this summer.
