I run a 3 year old Serpent S411 in VTA and I gotta tell ya, I was getting SMOKED until I got some help on the set up. The weight added to these cars really levels the field. Plus, I remember guys lapping people in the Slowbirds race using old Associated TC3's an HPI chassis. It isn't necessary to have a crazy expensive car. Just find a GOOD used TC chassis and have fun. That's the point of VTA.

I'm IN for a few F1 races at Jackson. Can't make all of them, but will do my damnedest to make a few. I'm SOOOO in for the TCS race after the great time I had this past weekend.

Hey guys, I am super looking forward to racing at Jackson this Spring & Summer. Is it recommended to have a seperate chassis for asphalt and carpet? I am really only talking about the chassis plate, concerning wear from the asphalt.

Also, what is the spec tire? Is it undecided at this point?

Jay,
I see you are coming back full force. Glad to have you back out there.

Spec Tire is typically Solaris Hard. Available at the track for i'm not sure how much but last year it was $25. I run the same chassis for both i dont normally have a different chassis for asphalt. I run my scraped up one indoors too.

Jerry

Many run chassis protective film, and some even make their own lexan "undertray" to protect it.

Scraping up your chassis is a form of artistic expression. Raceberry hard plates or aluminum chassis will be the way to go. Well know by mid-april!

I sure am Jerry! Going hard (pause) with this on-road stuff. I had a great time with offroad and maybe I'll return at some point but Onroad appeals & agrees with me on every level. I am totally strung out (again!) on RC--I hope my fiance doesn't organize an intervention for me!! lol

It's open sauce but, I had best success last year with lg1 tire cleaner and lg2 sauce. Made by gravity rc. Tire tweak is a good one to use with warmers, forget who makes it though
