Bridget's Battle Aug. 24th
As the summer comes to a end, Middle River Hobbies and John's Mobile R/C Raceway are teaming up to help a home town girl, Bridget.
Bridget
Bridget was born perfectly healthy! When she was 22 months old Bridget caught a random virus that attacked her heart, causing it to become enlarged and unable to pump efficiently. Her official diagnosis was dilated cardiomyopathy due to viral myocarditis. Unfortunately, the damage done by the virus was permanent and her only hope was a heart transplant. Bridget and her family fought through the rough parts. After a successful heart transplant and lots of love Bridget had become the poster child for John's Hopkins.
Bridget and her family want to share the love and raise money to help all who are battling heart problems. Nearly 200 children a year fight a battle similar to Bridget's. We are trying to help all of those children and their families. Funds from this event will go to benefit the John's Hopkins Children Center (in Baltimore Maryland) to help children with congenital heart defects as well those in need of heart transplants.
This race was created to recognize Bridget's battle and support her healthy recovery!
Every year 40,000 babies are born in the United States with congenital heart defects, others like Bridget are born healthy and get sick later. The proceeds from this event will assist them on their road to recovery.
Please come out and support Bridget, her family and their very worthy cause!
Charity RC Race
benefits the Pediatric Cardiology and Child Life Department of the John's Hopkins Children Center.
Event will take place Rain or Shine. (Rain will move in-doors)
Entry will be $20 and $10 for each extra class
Spectators are Free & Encouraged!
Classes Are:
17.5 Touring - ROAR Rules
Mod Touring - ROAR Rules
F1 - Silver Can motor or 21.5
VTA- 1550 grams, HPI tires, ROAR Approved bodies, 25.5 motor, 5000mah Limit.
Mini Cooper- Silver Can motor, 1250 grams
Nitro Touring, ROAR Rules. Class will have a 20 min. A main and 10 min B main
The New Class 21.5 Touring
Tub chassis only touring car ,4wd and or 2wd
Motor 21.5 , blinky , open gearing, Good starting FDR 3.7
Battery , 2s
Body , any closed wheel 1/10 scale car body , just NO touring car body like Mazda 6, LTC and hot bodies Subaru .
Tires are , Sweep OG , Solaris hards , Jaco blues . On the carpet we will switch out OG's for 32's .

As the father of a 4 year old boy battling a rare brain condition i know what this family is going through.Best wishes to Bridget and her family,if i can get some equipment together for this race i will try to make it.This is a great thing you all are doing here!!!

Here is the commercial that will be on 98 Rock shortly. We have tons of donations and raffle prizes available. This is far from just a race. This is fun for anyone to stop by and participate in, the racing is simply a side show. This is a great one to bring any family or friends to.
