Hobby Chamber www.hobbychamber.com host the 2004 ROAR Region 1 Carpet Oval Regional Championships. We are grateful for Hobby Chamber for taking a stab at oval racing. The original host violated ROAR policy and lost the race. Hobby Chamber did not normally run oval, but amde a valiant effort in getting the race off the ground.
In the 1/10 Modified class A-Main; John Havestien took home the first place trophy with 59 laps in 4.05.679! He was followed in second by Mike Valentine with 59 laps in 4.03.694 and in third by Bert Lund with 51 laps in 3.44.716. In the 1/10 stock class A-Maim; Ron Midford with 46 laps in 4.05.083, Jim Tierinni with 42 laps in 4.00.106, and to round out third was Bill Smith with 41 laps in 4.08.631. The 19 turn class A-Maim was as follows: first place went to Nick Dorcz with 52 laps in 4:02.684, Chad Sewell with 52 laps in 4.04.931 in second, and in third Nick Leone with 51 laps in 4.00.254. The 19 turn class B-Maim was as follows: first place went to Jim Calvery with 52 laps in 4.00.653, Ken Boehm with 51 laps in 4.02.637 in second, and in third Erich Reichert with 50 laps in 4.05.056.
