Ok, this got deep quick. I will post what ROAR said on its approvals page at: http://www.roarracing.com/?s=approved+bodies
Quote:
IFMAR decision regarding 1/8 Fuel On-Road bodies for the upcoming Worlds in Miami, FL

IFMAR have released a statement related to the rules modification that will be allowed at the upcoming Fuel On-Road World Championship held at the Homestead Motor Speedway in Florida. In its statement, IFMAR concedes that too many of the current bodies have been made outside the 3-year-old specification and for the purpose of this event, many bodies that are already produced and approved through their various sanctioning blocks that don’t meet the IFMAR specification, will be allowed on a one-time basis. It’s ROAR’s intention to be synchronized with the IFMAR rules related to this and other classes, which will be determined by the IFMAR IC Executive Committee and adopted in full no later than 2012. ROAR will implement the IFMAR recommendations for the 2011 Nationals, run in late September in Chaplain, CT. Please see the attachments for further information regarding the body ruling from IFMAR.

Press release

This is what was on ROAR's page. If this means that the shells are all legal for the nats, then I cannot see why they wouldn't be legal for the regional. However, this is ROAR, and may need some interpretation. Someone get Ron Depoto in here...

OK, he's my take on this. Since ROAR stated that they be using the new body list and rules for the 2011 Nats at Chaplin and since the regional will be most of the racers "warmup" and test time for the nats I say ALLOW the bodies and use the rules that will be in place for the Nationals.

I hope this makes life a little easier for everyone.

No, rain came down. The 200mm race got cut short to 20 minutes because of it.

Wow - that really sucks! I left as the 1/8th B was starting, and headed west, and hit no rain. It never occurred to me that rain was a possibility at that point. I feel bad for the guys who didn't get a chance to race their main Mother Nature owes you guys one!
