Far from an ultimatum...just saying that us (8)mini guys in MD travel together so if some can't run the mini then none of us run...half have cups and the others have dif chassis (abc, fujin, and atomic).

Wow generating lots of interest on this one this is definitely going to be a great one!

Couple changes to get out of the way first.

Expanded to 2 days

That's right Darryl "2 Stroke" Lee called me on Friday to talk about it and we've decided it should be a 2 day event this year. We'd like to do our best to get folks home at a reasonable hour so we will be starting on time and running classes split between days. This will give folks an opportunity to run multiple classes without as much pressure. I do have a call into the local hotel and will be following up with them today to see about discounts. There will also be a crazy ironman torphy for those that want to run 6 out of the 8 classes best 2 finishers out of the ironmen gets the trophy and tee shirt, there are only 2 ironman tee. Bring your toys out boys and girls this will be the event to flex your muscles!

More Classes

So now that we have more day's there will be more classes run. I'm in the process of trying to find some 1/12 muscle car bodies for the 1/12 pan car guys. 200mm muscle cars already fit (kinda) on short course trucks but we are going to try it out this weekend and post some pictures.

Food

Darryl and Willy (Chef) Will ran down the menu ... I had to go to Old Country Buffet after I got off the phone!! Roast beef, Roast turkey, Meatballs and Sides ... yessir heck if you don't want to cook and aren't racing it's a great deal for dinner hahahaha. Bring the family out!

Family stuff to do

If you can fit your family in the car w/ your RC stuff drag them out adults and kids. Kennett Square is a great little place to walk through lots of history and quaint little shops, AND there is a kids fun center around the corner. I'm getting the details of a discount but please let me know how many kids he should expect (the more the better the discount ;-D) it's a great place to take the kids and have the run about and get tired hahaha.


So now ... onto the contentious parts of the event: the classes.

This is a tough thing to do guys we all have rc stuff that we've spent time and money preparing and we'd all love to race it. But we also all would like a shot at getting a trophy or our names and faces on the Wall of Fame. Here is where I have to advise us not to let competition help us lose focus on why we got into this hobby in the first place ... fun . The Muscle car madness event has been popular because it brings us back to scale looks and the sense of having a good time. We can't lose sight of that. So this is my long winded way of saying guys take a good hard look at your rc inventory and bring out the cars you want to HAVE FUN driving. If you don't have one I can help we have an order for F1 cars going in on Wednesday and they should be here long before MMCM. The Formula one class is definitely fun!!!

Details on classes:
Cup car, there is a stock class that will retain stock rules, modified will be "Open" meaning you can run any M type, 4wd chassis belt or shaft. It is open so go for it if you think your shaft drive is at a disadvantage I'd invite you to look at the Cups at the Bowl results, Steve Giest podiumed in open mod w/ a Stock car stock motor!

1/10 Muscle Car, Hotly debated but to the "spirit" of the class these are supposed to be muscle cars. While I will not argue 17.5 boosted is dam fast, I would even say as fast as 13.5 was last year, it's almost the same arguement as 4cyl turbo or v8? Today's muscle cars still have push rods and fire breathing normally aspirated bigblock motors. I think we should try to follow that formula in RC push technology aside for this one and go for raw chassis tweaking neighbor annoying, tire burning horsepower. If you want to run 17.5 boosted you actually may have an advantage because it's more driveable on the layout we have down now (and for the race) but hearing the windup of a 13.5 and for the brave a 10.5 on the back straight will have the spectators ooohing and ahhhhing =D. And guys I honestly don't want to start any wars here I'm not taking sides either I'm simply explaining the spirit of the class. This was what it was intended to be remember the focus here is on fun. If you have fun ripping your car to shreds but making it go super fast then we are here to sell you all the parts you need , but we will be having fun right there with you.

F1, We will be following Paposwing's F1 Nation rules. They will be posted soon. There will be a twist though, the motors will follow the Mushroom Bowl stock rules. Meaning when you get to the track the motors will all be put into a box and you will pick at random. Please rest assured the motors will all be dynoed and within 100rpm of each other. We want nose to tail racing in the F1 class. There is a bit of contention in this class to =D as there will always be when you have horsepower and testosterone mixed up hahaha. So keep your eyes on the thread.
