Skyrocket racing also has a 220 life w/ switch and a 150mah nicd pack available. I should have them all soldered up for the start of the season.

Unfortunately, the voltage provided by the 1s is not enough to properly power all the electronics in the car, so the booster/rx pack helps with that:

1) TQ Racing makes a good booster, it's $25 but works well (I use this in my car).
2) HobbyCity sells boosters, they are $5, but you'll probably pay $40 in shipping from China.
3) Novak sells a booster, but it's pricey and quite large.
4) Trinity/Epic sell a 220mah LiFE receiver pack that sells for about $25.

No matter which route you go, you will probably need a separate switch.. so yes you'll have two switches, for the booster and for the ESC.

I can help anyone out with the wiring up of their boosters... in fact, I expect to do 2-3 a day for the next few weeks. It's easy once you see how it works.

For anyone that shows up missing a booster, I have 1 HobbyCity booster in my box and 1 of the Trinity RX packs in my box. (Just FYI, I ran the RX pack last year for several weeks and really didn't notice any difference... it was just another battery that needed to be charged).

Does your track accommodate 1/10 TC's? There is a group of about 5 of us with FF03's with 17.5's looking for a home

Yes! C'mon out! We ran TC's all last season without an issue.

Default 1/10 TC

Thanks Ray, absolutely 1/10 TC will be in the house. And since the weather's starting to get cooler, it's definitely time to look at igniting the indoor season with a bang. Tomorrow me & D Lee, were looking to clear out the track area and start cleaning it up and getting it presentable again for the new season. Anyone with an hour or 2 to spare tomorrow who doesn't mind pitching in would be more than welcome to help us get the track ready.

Default Race Day 10/17 Sunday

Yesterday we had a chance to clean up the indoor track area and it's starting to look like a track again with lots of potential. We'll need to lay down a Layout. Last year we started off with a pretty simple initial layout, a $ Dollar sign S. I think the initial layout will probably be something simpler this year as well, but of course it will updated with something more challenging once the indoor season gets on it's way.

I had a blast today Ray (Murry), you put on a Terrific Show and the venue was Top Notch. The Museum is remarkable I don't know how you find these places but you're still at the top of your game.

Jeff you pulled the Trifecta today, great racing with you, 2nd places all day might be tough to take if they's come from anyone but you. Thanks for keeping the day a thrill to be a part of today.

I have a layout to begin the season, already... It'll be completed by Wednesday evening.

Don't count on the full straight. The idea is to change 1 or 2 elements every 4-6 weeks to keep things fresh. This doesn't mean redoes of the entire layout, but it does mean that occasionally the "full straight" won't be there. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. Keep an open mind.

I'm trying to mix things up this year. This is about what I was thinking for the first layout this year. It's got a few quick areas, couple tight areas. Doesn't use all of the track, but is different than anything we saw last year. Sort of inspired by the track layout at the beginning of last year, but with some changes.

I expect that the crosstown will be pretty fast, and the equalizer will be whether you can hold down the throttle through that sweeper.

Edit: Just added another layout with a crooked straight.

Looks good Ray! Hopefully I'll try to volunteer some time Wednesday with everyone in preparation of the track.

Track is cleaned out, new layout is down, just need to secure the PVC to the carpet and minor things like that. Darryl is actually looking at getting more PVC.

Thanks to Will, Darryl, Merrill, Kent and myself for the work.

The track may not be 100% for this saturday, but it'll be good enough to run on... so dust off your cars and come on out!

FYI, we decided on layout #2 to start with. It looks quite fast in a few areas, should be a fun layout.

What's missing Ray? What do you mean not 100% ready? Layout #2 looks challenging nevertheless.

Side note- Sorry I couldn't make it out, two History exams this week alone won't allow me to come out to help. Hopefully I see some of you Saturday, or at least I think I will..

We need outside barriers still... and cleanup/completion of the corners/turns.

Everyone can start using the track Saturday around noon or 1PM. We should have it mostly done by then. This week is not going to be a complete race, but just a test and tune.

Going forward, track is available any day of the week the shop is open for a $5 fee (to cover heat/electricity).

Default Indoor Track at the Bowl

Hey Ray, thanks to you and the crew for putting down the Layout yesterday. Dee Lee, sent me some pics to post of the gist of the layout. There's been a few inquiries about racing indoors so I'm sure there will be a few guys out this weekend to try out the digs.
