2nd Annual Michigan State Off-Road RC Championships hosted by Virus Racing and Proving Grounds, Jenison Michigan.

We would like to get the buzz for this race going real early this year. It is our intention to host this race on November 13, 2010. This allows all the different series that are running in the state to finish up, crown their winners and have their banquets before this race takes place. Going forward, the format for this race will change. Our goal for this event it to bring the best racers from the state of Michigan together to crown a true state champion each year. All winter long we thought about the best way to do this and here is what we have come up with.

There are three main racing series that will be running this year in the state of Michigan, on the East side of the state you have the FTMS, on the West side of the state we will have the VRL, and the grand daddy of racing series in Michigan the MORL. Each of these series runs several events through out the year crowning track champions and at the end of the year, a final series champion for each class. We want to bring together all of these winners and series champions to race for the state championship.

After each of these events the top five finishers for each class in each of the three series will be given an automatic invitation to race in the State Championship event on November 13. After all the series racing is complete and all the winners have been crowned, we will begin pre-registering all of the winners from each of the three series. Once we have completed that, we will count up the pre-registrations and then open registration to everyone else in the state who would like to come compete. We will put a cap on the number of entries that will be allowed for the state championships, it will most likely be some where in the area of 200 - 250 total entries.

So again, the winners in each class at each of the FTMS, VRL and MORL series will be guaranteed a spot in the state championships. So the only way to be 100% certain you will have a chance to run in this race is to participate in the FTMS, VRL and MORL events around the state. We encourage everyone to get out there and race in these series, then once the year has wound down, we will bring the best of the best together to crown state champions in all of the different classes. As more details become available we will make sure to update you through out the year. We will also do our best to post the automatic spots that are reserved for the event winners as the year goes on. Good luck to you all in the 2010 year of RC racing, we hope to see you in November!

*** Just a quick update on the State Championship race. Dirt Burners RC Race Track is having a Spring State Championship race on April 24. We will be including the winners in each class from this race in our invitational race in November. ***

Kris NorLoock, I raced with him waaaaaay back in the day approximatley 10-12 years ago at Robbies Hobbies in Bay City MI. Good to see he is still racing He was a fast local that ran a Schumacher I beleive.

You might want to check the MORL sheets then, I pulled the names directly off of them. Mistakes can happen, I might have fat fingered it too. So when you going to come out and get your butt handed to you again? Outdoor track is amazing!
