I am looking for info/dates for all the premier onroad and offroad events that people travel to yearly (like the nationals, rc pro series). I know some of the date have not been posted yet but usually occur around the same time every year.
I am working on the schedule for next year and I would like to get a reasonable schedule that avoid conflict with major/heavily attended events.
I appreciate the help.
Secondly we will be continuing with renovations of the facility. Looks for a revised pit lane for the onroad track, improvements around the facility to enhance appearance and safety and possibility of covered pits.
We plan on having the Novarossi Challenge again this year along with at least one additional special onroad event and I will be working on organizing some special events for the offroad racers.
2010 WILL be great year at Controlfreakz Raceway!
(Please disregard the nonsense rumors if it does not come from myself or Ken Ives it is just not accurate.)
Cheers
Jamie Gonzalez

Jaime, you're way too early. Nobody has a schedule out yet. Remember 301 is going through changes, Floyd Bennett still has to negotiate with the parks department, and who knows what else is going to happen in the next few months. Your best bet is do a tentative schedule and change dates as info comes in.
GLC is typically the first weekend in August and the Capitol Classic is usually the first weekend in June but ROAR has scheduled Nationals the 2nd weekend in June so that may affect scheduling.

This year may be a bit tricky with the worlds last two weeks of July in texas and may shift schedule for other events.
Basically the event that the onroad crew attends are cap classic, nat, glc, 95showdown correct?
Last season got rained out alot. You should leave room for make-up races, also more trophy would be nice. Most major races are around at the same dates every year. Whatever you post around that should be fine. Don't worry about attendance, you guys always make the pilgrimage worth it. By the way, will the track be available to club members during the week like last year?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! thats like telling Mcdonalds not to open up yet because Burger king might open up in the next few months. Here is a man who invest alot of time and money to provide us with a national level track and is still always looking for ways to improve, c'mon covered pits, and is ready for the start of this years season and you are asking him to hold off and or change dates. What is wrong with this picture!
Now dont get me wrong I hope that 301 and Floyd Bennet are able to start up and be successful they have been around for a long time and kept onroad racing alive and I do appreciate their hard work and efforts.I also feel that all tracks should work together with their dates so all of us racers in this area can race together but Chaplin is ready right now so shouldnt the other tracks work around Chaplin?

First of all is Control Freakz & the fine people that run it Second class, that they have to wait for other tracks that are not ready for the up coming season and that have scheduled races in the past with out caring about any other tracks knowing that Control freakz had races scheduled, but yet you ask them to wait, so they can work around their schedules. WOW something is wrong with this picture. Well Then my suggestion to you Jaime is, Being that we really appreciate everything Kenny & your self have done for us racers and that we actually go to the track to enjoy your events and hospitality and support Control Freakz.
I ask that if possible please post a schedule as soon possible so us racers can start scheduling our dates and family events. I think it's fair to say that if your the first to post your schedule then others should work around yours.
Again Kenny & Jaime, Thanks for everything and keep up the good work.
Enough said.
Wow I'm glad you guys read this thread every day. That post is over a month old.
I am fully aware of how hard Jaime has worked for Control Freakz. I tired to help him as much as I could, especially with the ROAR related stuff.
Jaime was asking for help when most of the nitro racers were looking for a place to run 1/12 scale, or has no one noticed the shortage of carpet tracks? Add to that no one's sure of what's happening with FBF, and 301 raceway was on the verge of extinction (fortunately it looks like it will survive). Add to that a very early date for the nats (June) and the sedan worlds in Texas. A schedule that has the fewest amount of conflicts will have the largest chance of success. So chill out!
However now that it is mid January it's time for some gentle nudges to those other tracks.

Um, Blue Diamond is on the way to 301. Possibly work together on a schedule this year?
