Default 2010 ROAR national event schedule

Perhaps this could be stickied.

The governing body of ROAR concluded thier meeting today and set the 2010 National Event schedule.

October 17, 2009
Dear ROAR Membership: The ROAR Executive Committee’s fall meeting has concluded and the minutes from the meeting will be published in the next few days. Although, one item we found of major importance was the announcement of our 2010 ROAR Nationals host venues. Some of this information has leaked out prior to today as the excitement for the events is evident. The ROAR Executive Committee would like to make these announcements official and congratulate the venue selections. We received several excellent bids for each event and we hope to save those venues not selected for consideration in 2011.

Please, take a moment to congratulate these hosts for their selections. These events will be managed by the ROAR RMT staff. The 2010 Nationals Guidelines will have a few alterations to several race programs, so please be sure to download a copy and review should you intend to participate in a ROAR National event in 2010.

I think we have a pretty good record of awarding events to tracks that ask for the event and everybody is pretty well aware of the expectations..

Seriously though, this track will be installing carpet for this event and another one I understand. This is why we needed to get the news out quickly to give the host more time.

Well, "on road fuel" would indicate that all on road fuel classes are at one event since there isn't any listing for a separate on road fuel class..
(sorry, sarcasm today... !!)

Yes, the on road fuel nats at MRO is combined with 8th and 10th fuel on road classes. The limit will be 20 qualifying heats which is equally split between the two classes. Registration for the event will open 90 days prior to the first day of racing AND the top 20 of each class will have a seven day early grace to register by contacting the Administrator with payment in full and ensuring current membership.

Maybe, but I doubt it. The sedan worlds will be 6 weeks away which will determine a lot in this entry count.

Point is, this event will open up 90 days prior and current membership through the dates of the event will be required for the entry to be accepted. Just like ALL nationals.

10 car heats?
you realize that lap times are in the 12 second range for 1/8th scale on this track?
Awesome another National event that we can prepare 50% effort for.

Fun track though!!
12 or 14 car mains should be fun to watch.

Brad - you know, you dont' have to attend... its really your own decision.

ROAR makes decisions in the best interest of the membership and to be quite honest, having a split event creating one with less than 50 entries or so just to have another with 150 entries makes no sense financially. Simply put - this is an economic decision and MRO has an effective 8th scale program on their track.

We are pretty good at determining numbers in heats and I'm sure this one will have a 10 car max once we see the lap times.

Move on please.
thanks.
