I believe we will again be the same situation as the 2009 nats in regards to entries. 2010 nats is the qualifier for the 2011 1/8th worlds which is mostly likely going to be in the US...right?

yes, but the worlds event for 10th is about 6 weeks later. We expect a decrease in 10th entries for this event due to the worlds event which meant having a split event would have been a financial disaster for those traveling to the event, ROAR and most importantly, the host.
Basically, I do feel this event will sell out due to the interest in 8th scale for the qualifier portion... so the 90 day online and mail in registration date will be very important as well as the top 20 from this past year being able to have a 7 day early grace.
Oh and yes, 2011 ROAR has the event in the rotation. We are currently seeking an appropriate venue now. We have several locations to review and we will be announcing the selection at year's end.
Brad - you know, you dont' have to attend... its really your own decision.
ROAR makes decisions in the best interest of the membership and to be quite honest, having a split event creating one with less than 50 entries or so just to have another with 150 entries makes no sense financially. Simply put - this is an economic decision and MRO has an effective 8th scale program on their track.
We are pretty good at determining numbers in heats and I'm sure this one will have a 10 car max once we see the lap times.
Move one please. Condemning and criticizing the choices of the class committee and ROAR are simply old news and honestly, disrespectful and our memories are long.
thanks.
Did not say I would not attend.
Finshed in the top 20 in 1/8th scale so I plane to use my 7 day grace period whatever that means.
You need to understand we are all entitled to our opinions and freedom of speech to express them. I do not care at all if you agree or disagree with my opinion.
What is disrespectful about my post? I asked how many cars would be run in each heat so I could get an idea of how many would attend.
What exactly is your point about long memories?
When is the next ROAR election?

Brad, the intent of your post was to express displeasure in decisions made by ROAR and to create a controversy due to your displeasure.
The situation in Toledo was done for many reasons, mostly financial to all involved. With that said, MRO was taken off the host list in 2009 and its only fair they received the venue for 2010. Therefore, they did and ROAR Excom followed the recommendations of the class committee's first choice of what to do in 2010.
Next election for President is the fall of 2010. Nominations start at the end of summer.. watch the website. Right now are nominations for odd numbered region directors and Vice President. Deadline for nominations is the end of this month.
As for the electric off-road Nats, this is the same facility that hosted the 8th scale Nats last year, correct? Is this event going to be held on the outdoor track or on their indoor track? Place looks top notch.
Thanks.

In previous On-Road Nats before 1/8th and 1/10 scale were separated you could only sign up in one class if memory serves me. This allowed more racers to attend. Then if there were still slots available after a set date drivers could sign up in an additional class.
Should this be considered now that the two are combined again? Gives more racers the chance to attend and helps stimulate the local economy!

Reason: should have read "In previous On-Road Nats"
I did come across this in the ROAR announcements dated May 16, 2009:
"We will also look into limiting the number of entries an individual may register to allow fair access to all the membership desiring to attend that event."
So it does look like it was brought to our attention. So is this going to be the case for 2010 On-Road Nats?
ROAR has never been better and its all been because Dawn's at the helm. I really hope she runs again because ROAR will definitely suffer without her!!!

Is the 7 day early grace for the top 20 just for onroad or is it for offroad as well?
Nice to see you again, hope Sean is better.

Brad - I do apologize for what might appear to be a threat from your ROAR President, in no way did I intend that to be construed in that manner. What I meant was being bashed just creates negative feelings towards one another and its hard to forget what is said. Words hurt actually more than physical touch..you know? Again, I am sorry and sorry to those who were offended.
Bob - Yes, I believe we are looking at one class at a time for on the on road fuel event. I'm not sure how we are wording that or taking sure of the details but that is in the works.
Yes. Sean is better.. thanks Nancy!! And yes, seven day early is for all events. The racer is responsible for contacting ROAR though. We won't contact you to ask if you want to pay early.
Jimmy.. love ya man.
Tim - you too
RexR - (that one surprised me.. LOL)
SQC - yes. Same facility. Yes, outdoor.
Sohlman - I do not see the veru same situation as this past year with entries. The Sedan entries will not be as large due to the WC in six weeks or so.
Grapejuice - yep... not sure how GJ came into play here.. but the ROAR website has fixed it and I did ask the original poster to edit that.

True. I was thinking that you will see many more 1/8th entries. It wasn't as important to attend this year's nats for 1/8 on-road. Whatever the case, I just like giving you a hard time. Ask Rueben.
