Last year the schedule looked something like this, I can't remember exactly...

Nitro Pit

Tucson

Nitro Pit

Srs

Nitro Pit

Paddocks

Nitro Pit

Just in case some of the new guys aren't aware of the history of the series.
It started as the AZ Winter Nitro Point Series.
The year after it was called The AZ State Nitro Proseries (or something like that). Then onto this past year when it was re-named The AZ Championship Series. This series has always been a Nitro Series which was a tune up for the first big national race of the year, The Nitro Challenge. The Nitro Challenge was not always right here in our backyard. But it has always been the first national of the new year that has a 10 year following.

With that being said the series will continue to be a Nitro series but will probably see the addition of a couple of support classes along the way.

I might also add that this series was the first organization of its kind in AZ. It brought all of the tracks together and racers from all over the state as one racer group. The first race of the very first series was held in Paddocks back yard and brought in roughly 70 entries! That series bounced back and forth between SRS, Tucson, Yuma, Tempe, and the birthplace of Nitro racing in AZ, Mike Paddocks!!! That Freshman year of series was an eye opener to the origonal owners of the Nitro Pit. They saw a need for a world class facility in AZ where the nitro racer base was growing rapidly. Thanks to them, Kenny for the vision, and countless others heartfelt and painstaking labor the Nitro Pit was born.... The series has grown to where we had 120+ at each event this past series. Its been a great ride and we need to thank the God father of the series Kenny for bringing us all together.

Electric 1/8th is cool in its own right but until it has enough popularity to warrant a big class you are going to have to be patient. Its great that you love to race at SRS I am glad that there is a track for everyone in AZ.
I dont see anywhere in my post where I demanded a class be added to any race?

Believe it or not I've asked pretty much before each 'big' aka series' race and Kenny doesn't have a problem adding a class. Thanks kenny.

Everyone else is lazy and/or doesn't know/doesn't want to come out and race them, its not that they are excluded. This year should be better. Any big race they are running them Ill be bringing mine out so its just up to the guys that have em to run em. Ill race a nitro car too but elec is much more fun, at least for me.

I hope we have enough for an electric class.

If there is enough interest we may be able to get Billy and Maifield to bring theirs. I think Kinwald has one as well...

There could be some good racing.... Billy, Trevor, Casey, Kinwald, Maifield and whoever else has one..

I know some others like Friery and Big Burt would possibly partake....

Well Brad if that was never your intention, then I am sorry. But by the way you over emphasized 'Nitro' and your 'great nitro series' it would seem to me that you were taking a condescending approach to the subject. I could be wrong. (ive been wrong before) Sometimes the internet does not get the point across correctly.

And yes this is a great series, one that holds very special memories for 100 plus individuals all of whom are nitro racers at heart. It does not mean that new classes wont be tolerated but its going to be a slow change that's why I advised some patience when dealing with this subject.

I too will enjoy an electric buggy class if its offered. I also hope that the class can be a legitimate one that grows permanent roots, and not just a class filled by another couple-month interest group.

You guys are obviously into 1/8th scale and nitro primarily it seems like but I would think it would be in the series best interest, (maybe not you personally) to add some of the newer growing classes. 1/10 electric short course, 1/8 electric, with the introduction of brushless and lipo electric is only going to continue to grow so I would'nt fight it!

X2 I wholeheartedly agree I think that we can definitely accommodate all classes of off road. I think that would be a great opportunity to encourage some racers that haven't been out to see our track yet.

So I haven't been around forever but the bigger nitro races I have been to so far where electric classes were added to the program didn't get a very good turn out. Nitro challenge only had a couple of E buggies, and not many more slashes. The MDA race in El Paso also only had a couple of slashes turn out. Even though they are a ton of fun it seems people just don't take them as seriously.

As someone said, that may be better this year. I know a group of guys have been running the SC trucks out at Paddocks and SRS so maybe they will turn out and have some good competition in the series.

Just my opionion, electric 1/8 scale is cool but leave the SC trucks at home for the ACS.

I agree with Marcus. If we had to change the classes I think it should at least remain 1/8 scale. I don't like electric but they are almost the same to race against because they are still 1/8 scale. I don't mind another class for these as long as we still get 7 minute qualifiers and 20 mains. I dont think adding on one more class will make racing that much longer. But like Vereck said every year the Winter Nitro Series is always a great event (I know its the thing that I prepare and look foward to every year) and I don't think we should drastically it. Maybe SRS would be willing to do a 1/10 scale traveling series. So we would be the 1/8 scale series and they would be the 1/10 scale traveling series. That would be fun
