Default 2009 Blue Diamond/G Force on road scene "ALL OUT"!!

Well, it's been a long time coming, or at least it feels that way. Don has given me the green light to start the new thread and start it I will.

Welcome everybody to the latest in the on road evolution. For those of you who are newcomers, you are in for a treat. For those of you who are seasoned veterans and may have raced here before, you are about to experience RC as you have never seen it before!!! This is the new face of outdoor asphalt on road racing! Numerus improvements to the track and facilities have been made and some are still in the works, so stay tuned.

1: Track is now in a more accessible location. Enter the complex and it is on
the left. No longer requiring going thru the parking lots on the right. Also,
the track surface will no longer be at the mercy of the winds and dust
from the motorcycle track.

2: The new location has an overhead pavillion that can accomidate racers
without shelters (EZ-UP'S "). It can probably house approx 35 racers if
they use the area wisely. This will be at a first come, first served basis.

3: A totally new track layout on a new more tire friendly surface. This new
layout was designed by and for "you", the racers. The design is totally
unique to this area and will challenge your driving skills.

These are just a few of the exciting upgrades coming. More info to come real soon.

Gotta go and get my car together, all this talk is getting me amped!!!!!

I smell nitro in the air, and it smells like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,VICTORY!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Jeff...
As Jeff has said, more information is coming and some pictures will be put up soon. We at Blue Diamond and GForce are really excited about our move to the new location. Although there are many things that we feel are perfect for an RC facility there are also going to be aspects we will be looking to improve for future seasons. Best way to describe what we are doing is that what you will see May 3rd is -Stage 1- of our attempt to offer everyone the best RC racing experience that we can. Just be patient and enjoy the growth of our program.

Don

Some Updates 5/7/09

Track is done. Here are some details about our facility:

VERY car friendly borders - All borders are plastic or rubber, pvc only in straight sections. Some walls are double walled plastic 'boards' which absorbs much of the impact. Other walls are flat rubber mounted on rubber so car damage is at a minimum. ALL turns have rubber around them. This track is extremely fast so we put alot of time into making sure the borders are 'soft'.

WIDE LANES Track width is 16' - 26' all around. Back straight starts at 17' and opens up to 23' before 26' wide sweeper.

Bathrooms - Portable toilets no more. Air conditioned with sink so wash your hands! - (bathrooms may not be done in time for 5/10/09, we are building them now, but should be ready for the following weekend)

New Pit areas - Pavilions available. The one closest to the track will seat 30-35 drivers, the two others will seat around 100 drivers each (these large pavilions will be reserved for larger events). There is also room around the track if you choose to bring your own tables etc. All pavilions have electric and lighting.

Concessions - Full concessions will be available on most weekends. We are a few weeks from getting this open as of 5/7/09, will keep you updated.

FIRST NIGHT RACE: Saturday May 23rd with practice all night Friday the 22nd!

And we are not done More updates later...

I wonder how many laps I can get in 5:04

OH, June 21 is my b-day. I think I should have a reserved spot in the a-main and given 10 laps

Lap times on the new lay out... I don't know?
I can't wait to see what the speeds are gonna look like! I definitely have to get a more powerful motor for this new lay out!

Default Blue Diamond

I just want to say that I visited this track earlier last year and I must say it was a pleasure. I'm a diehard electric guy but spurcheck and many others at Blue Diamond opened my eyes and nose to nitro fun. So any that are thinking I will tell you it is well worth the trip. The track and pit areas were outstanding aned the atmosphere is incredible. just m 2 c.
