BACKYARD R/C RACEWAY, INDIANAPOLIS, IN
Ok guys, I have been meaning to get this posted sooner, but wanted to wait till construction started.
Its Official, we are opening an Electric Offroad Track here in Indianapolis, IN ( Backyard R/C Raceway )
Track is located on 7942 Hague Rd, Indianpolis, IN, just south of 82nd street, just North of the Lawrence Noth High School.
Track deminsions are 77x55. Track is an ELECTRIC ONLY offroad track. Only reason it is electric only is because it is in a backyard, so there are neighbors around, and we don't want to make enemies, haha.
OPENING WEEKEND IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 10th!
We will be running on Sunday, every other Sunday starting May 10th ( weather pending ) Track will open at 8am, racing at 12pm
We will be running ALL electric classes as long as we have three or more
Novice
Stock Buggy
Stock Truck
Mod Buggy
Mod Truck
Mod 4wd
Stock Slash
Mod Slash
Electric 1/8
Entry Fees are 10$ for the first, 5$ for any additional classes. We do have AMB timing and scoring, however it is the older model ( for the first year to make sure this is going to be worth inversting in a new scoring system ), meaning everyone will have to use house transponders. Although this may be a hassel for the guys with a personal transponder, it will hopefully make it easier for the new guys starting out without the personals.
Racers will need to bring: Tables, Chairs, Easy Ups, Extension cords, Power is provided on site.
The only real hassel will be parking. Being located right on Hague Rd we do not have alot of parking at the track, we do have enough room for 10-12 cars to be parked at a time, meaning we will need racers to drop their stuff off at the track, then go park at the Lawrence North High School parking lot. Parking lot is about 500ft away, but hopefully this wont turn people away. I have attached a Google map picture to see what I'm talking about. The picture makes it look farther then it reall is, I promise, haha.
Our e-mail address is [email protected] , we also have a website that is in progress, www.backyardrcraceway.com . Phone number is 317-201-2451, during non race days it will just be set on Voice Mail with race dates and times.
Here are some contruction pics, track and drivers stand should be done in the next coming weeks. Post away with any questions!

Adam- No the drivers stand is not built yet. It will be on the 75 side, if you look close you can see post holes for the stand. Those pics are from my deck.

I'm no track building expert but based on where those post holes are, you might move the stand back a couple feet. That way you don't have to lean over the rail to see your car go by on that side if the track. Else, it may caused people to block the view for other drivers.

The drivers stand will end up being 2-3 feet from the track, so should be ok.

No dumbass, as the 10th being the first weekend at your track, not the series.

LOL my bad Rayls, I just thought you were talking about the series since I had just posted it.
Yeah I noticed that as well, we are going to have to move it to the third weekend in May ( yes its Memorial Day weekend, but that is more of a " I have the weekend off" instead of a family only type holiday )
We would do it the first weekend in May but I believe there is a big Slash Race going on then.

Bob- Depending on when we get everything finished, we may have an open practice session to test everything out.
Roughly we should be able to fit 16 10x10 easy ups within the fenced in area. If space became a prob, as long as we pitted 4 people under each easy up, should be able to fit AT LEAST 64 humans back there.
