Since we have some down time from racing it got me thinking a little bit. As far as VTA goes what do you think about a gentlemans agreement to turn off all timing advance except on the motor in VTA. It might slow down the cars a little bit.

Oh and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Default Timing on VTA

Good thought Kregger. I like it! Lets see what the population thinks and we'll make a ruling on it before we start next season.

Oh yeah BOO!!!!!

It woould definitely help out people running older equipment that doesn't have the timing feature.

I didn't think with the size of the track that it made a difference, at least the layout I was there for

The good old days at the Hooters parking lot in SI. I think this was TCS race, the last one held in NY.

The first brushless speedos had no additional, and non adjustable motor timing features. (basically altering the signal from the sensor to change the powerband). Now the new gen ones like the Tekin RS, LRP SPX, Speedpassion 2.0, etc all have adjustable timing settings and many offer timing "boost" or ramp as rpms climb, this allows you to gear lower and have better top end.

I didn't find the straights big enough at brownies to notice, now at jackson it was another story.

The turbo boost feature on the new speedos wouldn't have any effect becasue the straight isn't long enough but the regular timing advance might, especially depending on how you gear it.

Hey, what's up?

Will there be 1/18 scale racing next season?

There's a bunch of us who have mostly nitro, and the only electric we own are 18's. We built a track in the yard... but making it bigger shortly, if anybody local want to check it out for fun.. Will post pics when done,

But would like to see a real competitive 18 scale class. even if its anything goes, trucks, t/c... ae and duratrax have new short course trucks, etc.
