Default Midwest Series '09' 40th Season!

Our season is rapidly approaching! I hope you are all ready and anxious to get out there! We will have some new sponsors for this season, new faces, and at least one different patch of asphalt to brutalize!

Here are the dates for the 09 season;
May 2-3 at Toledo. This will be combined with the Can/Am challenge this year! Should be a great way to kick off the season, the 1/8 Nat's later in the year, the GLC and this event, should bring out a lot of racers to the fabulous Toledo facillity.
May 30-31 at Racine. The Racine club has a new site with fresh asphalt! Racine has not had particularly good turn-outs in the past, I hope the new lot will attract a stronger attendance.
June 27-28 in Mentor.
July 18-19 in Chicago. This is the same weekend as the Off-road nat's at Joliet. I don't think we have too many racers that would be conflicted by this. In fact, we be able to swing over before and after our race, to catch some of the action there.
Aug 15-16 at Cinci. We had originally planned a combined Byrons/MWS event on 22-23, but that will not happen this year. Scott did not want to have 2 On-road races in a row at Leisure, so we swapped Cinci and Leisure dates.
Sept 26-27 to cap things off at Leisure hours in Joliet.

Oct. 3-4 is an alternate date, in case of a total rain-out from one of our races.

The ROAR Region 5 championships will also be combined with one of our races. Will post that info as soon as it is confirmed.

ALL of these races need to be confirmed from the respective hosts. Most are set, the dates are set. It is possible (but not likely) that some locations may be 'traded'.
I will be updating info more frequently from now till the start of the season!

It's a tricky thing, trying to schedule around other events that many of us would like to attend, and get some rest between our MWS legs. This is not a perfect schedule, but does address those issues. I am most concerned with the MWS events, but as much consideration as possible, is given to other events on the calander.

Cinci was slotted late in the season at their request, to give them plenty of time for much needed track maintanance. All other sites are in about the same climate (geographically speaking).
The weather is a crap shoot regardless.

I have the MWS website particulars now, and will update the site, including the schedule and contact info for all the hosts. In the meantime, I'll PM some e-mail contacts to you!
I want to thank Brian Berry for all his work on our behalf, over the years! Not only as Director, but also for his work on the website, points tabulation etc. He has put a lot of time and effort into the nuts and bolts of the MWS operation. The uncertainty in the auto industry, has caused both Brian and Dave to decide on sitting out yet another season of the MWS! It is just not the same without them. With 2 months to go before the season kicks off, perhaps they will change their minds!

Memorial day is the 25th. Are you racing that weekend too? The MWS race is the next weekend (last weekend in May).

Normally we have links up on the schedule page. I have taken over the website duties, and am working out some bugs. Should have it updated in a couple days. Thanks for your interest Ultraspeed. Looking forward to seeing you out there.

Finally made some headway with the site! It has a long way to go, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Will update all the important stuff in short order, and update the appearance asap...
