Your kidding right? We are only a few weeks away, and some of us have been planning this for MONTHS!!! I have taken time off from work, and scheduled things around this, and a little over 3 weeks to go and the date changed? Hell, I bought a car specificly for this, and now the date is changing to a weekend that I can't attend. I have RCGT wheels and tires and a body that I spent my hard earned money on and now they are usless to me cause no one around here runs that calss. Sucks man

Changing the date this late isn't cool there are people who planned for months to go the original weekend like rock did and now are screwed besides the x-ray race is only one day you could do both if you wanted too. I'm just saying now two of my friends can't go and it suck's.

I think it's unfair to the majority to change the date now that it's so close. I've had this date planned for months and worked my family's vacation around it. I've spent money getting a cars together specifically for this race, which will now be a waste of my hard earned money!! I've taken the time off work, that I won't be able to change. I hope before you change this you'll think about what the majority of us have to do to get to these races.

Kinda sucks that now half of my friends can't go. You know, we have all been talking about this race since last year's event. May have been one the best times I ever had racing. I think that the short notice is really kinda shotty. Hasn't the date for the XRAY race been posted for a while? Why wait this long to now change your mind? We already have rooms booked in the area. I think that by changing the date, you are going to lose many die hard HPI guys that were planning on traveling quite far for this race, and instead gain probably less guys who would rather run their HPI cars at a race sponsored by another manufacturer.

Just my 2 cents.

ps - my friend cable guy was so pissed he posted twice because his fingers were twitching. Give him some Amp Traction and a pack of King Mountains and who knows what might happen.

Ray asked for a few more days to finalize some OTHER issues before posting an official change. He has more than just a conflicting race to deal with and if anyone can turn a tough situation into a great opportunity, it's Ray Murray. That's why HPI trusts him to promote this hobby under their banner.

I understand the prediciment that Ray is in here, and I'm sure he understands ours. Right now it's myself, and my friends posting our displeasure, but I'm sure there are others out there who may not have read this yet that are upset as well. If this news came out a month ago or before that maybe feeling would be different, but the date has been set at Aug 15th and 16th for too long, and it's just too close to make this kind of change and not expect a backlash. I don't know whats going on behind the scenes, and I don't know what "OTHER" issues are being taken care of. What I do know is that changing the date is very upsetting to those who have made plans, and can not change them. The date of this race was posted back in FEBRUARY, and 24 DAYS before the event there is talk of moving it? I may be saying the same thing over and over, but it simply astounds me theat this is even being considered! Just mind boggling.

A few more days? This thing has been set for MONTHS!!! So we have to wait untill the end of the week, or beginning of next week to get the official word? That leaves us even less time to make any changes we may need to make. Not that it matters to me, if the date stays I'm there, if it changves I'm not, but there are a lot of guys who can change their schedule, but now there being asked to change reservatons, and days off work on very short notice. When I first read the post I thought I was seeing things cause this can not be real. It may not be official, but the fact that is has been posted as possible is insane. This is just nuts, it has ruined my night, that's why I keep posting over and over, I am just stupified at this point.

Wow guys, the date change wasn't final, I was just presenting a situation and a possible solution....

That's why I posted this info, so I could get a feel if it was possible or not.

Twizted, you and your guys have always been a supporter of our Challenge races....don't you think it would have been better to express your concerns with me through pm instead of on here???

You know you can talk to me anytime.

I'm really trying to make it better for the majority of the racers who have supported the NJ Challenge over the years.

It's not easy getting these high profile locations to host a Challenge race. You would really be surprised how much footwork that needs to be done, to get an approval for a race like this.

Anyone else who would be inconvenienced by a date change, let me know.

Thanks

What is insane about being open and honest about a possible situation and trying my best to find a solution?

Fact of the matter is that Nifty Fiftys is onboard with us holding a Challenge race there, but a restaurant next door who also uses a large "shared" lot we want to use, had some concerns about the space we'll be taking up for the weekend.

I'm trying to get a meeting with him by this weekend, to see if he will work with us for that weekend. If he doesn't, we may be SOL. That's why I need the few more days.

Can I be any more honest than that?

Hey wasup,

Im with you 100% Ray. It saddens me to see people complain over a schedule change things happen. Life is not perfect... I know people have been scheduling there days of for this race, And I know its tough...

For what Ray have been doing for the R/C community has been a very POSITVE thing, He has been putting on the best R/C racing I ever witnessed. All of this he has done for the R/C community and then for all his hard work putting together these events.

People... you need to be grateful for all the things you have in life, step back and think of what Ray have done for everyone. He has put alot of time and effort for these events, you can aleast give him some respect...and not bash him on here. show some support, If you have an Issue at least pm him.

Theres nothing wrong with venting your fustrations but atleast give him the respect and pm him in private and discuss what ever matter you have. It Saddens me to see Ray get bashed like this for all he has done for everyone.

HEY RAY, NO MATTER WHAT I ALLWAYS GO YOUR BACK BRO!!!! YOU GOT ALL MY LOVE AND SUPPORT... WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THIS R/C COMMUNITY

PEOPLE.... SHOW SOME LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR RAY!!!

PEACE

Ray has been quite honest about the situation in his last post. Its a consideration that MIGHT have to be made.

Ray has been one of the biggest supporters for RC in this entire area - and that include PA,NJ,DE,MD and everyone should know that...His Challenges have also been some of the best attended events HPI have hosted - why do you think Ray has been asked to hold one of these and he's NOT a hobby shop..

I'd rather have the possiblity of moving the challenge instead of it being cancelled - or would everyone that prepared for the event loose out on it all together?!?!?!

I think once everyone's initial shock wears off, they will see that this will benefit EVERYONE and make for one of the best challenges in YEARS....

I happen to be on the inside for some of the stuff going on - and if things move, the added special things will be awesome FOR EVERYONE in attendance, trust

Its sad when people come on a thread and blast a guy for trying to do the right thing.

Ray is a great supporter of r/c and always has done whats best for the hobby

If U have any concerns I'm sure if U p.m. ray it would be better for the hobby, instead of blasting a guy who works his butt off so we can play with toy cars.

PEACE
