Great, the day after I buy my tires the rules change. I would be lying if I said I was surprised that HPI changed the rules. Now I'm stuck with D-compounds that I won't use. Not that I know for sure until we hit the track, but I would be willing to bet the Pro compounds are going to hook up a little better. Looks like I have go back up to m LHS and get new tires. Anyone want to buy some brand new unmounted 4790's?

Don't be so quick to ditch the D-Compounds. The rules we're opened up to make sure that people can at least get some kind of X-Patterns, rather than having to specifically look for D-Compounds.

Experience with the X-Patterns are:

D-Compound:
Most usable on practically all track surfaces/conditions. It will pretty much be usable anywhere. And depending on the your setup, it is also the most forgiving tire

Pro and Pro Belted Compounds:
Since these more closely resemble regular Touring Car tires (ie. Sorex etc). They are a lot more sensitive to track and temperature changes/conditions.

Being that I am on a limited budget I will probably have to stay with the D's, so I guess I'll find out. It probably won't be as bad as I'm thinking because the car I am using will be run in both RCGT and Vintage, and I have to use D compounds for Vintage. So at least my car will be set up for them.

Are there entry forms anywhere for the NJ Challenge race yet? I wasnt to get my entries in, and paid for as soon as I can.

IMPORTANT N.J. HPI CHALLENGE NOTE:

It's almost that time to do the damn thing once again, but I needed to get this info out as soon as possible, to make this HPI Challenge the best it can be....

As you all probably know, we have a history of getting great turnouts for the NJ race.

This year, unfortunately, we have two GREAT area races scheduled on the same weekend, The XRay race at Jackson, and the HPI Challenge here in Williamstown.

Jackson and I share MANY of the same racers, and this will be a tough one to try to decide which race to go to, for a LOT of loyal HPI Challenge racers.

It's rare to get the talent of Paul Lemieux and the XRay team to our area, and to be honest, if I had to decide on either Paul Lemieux or Ray Murray, I'm picking Paul....LOL

What I'd like to do is re-schedule the HPI Challenge for the following weekend, August 22-23.

I know some of you may have already made plans to take time off, but hopefully this will be enough time to change them to the following weekend.

This is a case where moving our date back, will make it better, for a great majority of the HPI Challenge faithful in our area.

I still have many things to do on my end, and I'll make an official announcement in a NEW thread next Monday....

So basically, I need everyone to hang tight until I get some other details worked out.....

Thanks!
