Just got word that the Micro Nats that fell on the same date as the regional race has been moved to one week later. This means that the regional will be even bigger. Drivers like Smyka, Carissa, Galinski, etc should all be here... Big Thanks to the crew up at R/C Madness for changing this around!!!!

That's interesting. They changed their dates to conflict with the Grand Slam Series race at FastCats. I guess they are not making the trip.

Any word on a tire decision for the rubber classes? If it's going to be open I'd like to try something other than jacos.

I already told Mike but now that it's on the ROAR website,

1/8 electric off road, Vintage Trans Am, and World GT are now ROAR sanctioned classes! Or they will be in 2009. I kinda hoped we could be the first region to run these classes under the ROAR banner.

I thought that R/C Madness had that date for a while.......Hmmmm......Your right Jim, not eneough weekends but if they planned it right, the first weekend of Dec. would have been perfect!

........... BTW, World GT should be in there with Stock Foam!

Stock foam TC will run if there are 10 entries!

Same criteria for VTA and World GT.

Please confirm tire issue as soon as possible.

I was going to head down this saturday to test some things out.

Thanks
Jamie

Here's my thinking:

Stock TC is supposed to be a class for those who do not have the skills or the time to run the more advanced classes. In this instance it would make sense to have a "spec" tire which would make it cheaper and easier to run stock.

The only thing I need to confirm is 360 will have enough tires in stock for everyone.

Now if there was a Super Stock (19T/13.5T) rubber tire class I can see making that an open tire class because it's a more advanced class.

I disagree in tires.

One thing I will say Jim; Where are the Race fliers or registration sheets? At this point (2 weeks before the race) Classes are announced. How would you know you have enough participants for the class to be added? No one pre-registered for the classes.

the rest stays with me

This isn't Formula One, where a decision can make a million dollar difference. We race RC cars to have fun, and the best way to have fun is to keep everyone on as level a playing field as possible. 360 has enforced a track tire rule since the start of the season. And since most of the people coming to the regional have raced here before, everyone is familiar with the rule.

It seems to me like you only want to cause problems.

Even so, there are still a few important things that need to have a solid answer, like will the track have enough tires, are we required to buy or bring a sealed set for the day, or are used tires ok? Is it going to be blue compound exclusive? or your choice of blue or green? I would imagine this stuff could be discussed and decided on with a short phone call?

I'm really not picky about the rules, I just like to know them a good bit in advance, I think the same people will win regardless of the rules.
