Default Radio Controlled Racers of Northern Virginia

Hobbytown of Lake Ridge (Woodbridge) Va is starting a new race series! They have a pretty nice parking lot track they set up with Jlap lap timing system. Races will be on Sundays starting August 17th. Classes will include:

-1/10 Elec Sedan
-Trans Am
-1/10 Elec Truck
1/18-1/14 Mini

Expert and Novice classes depending on turn out.

I've raced with this hobbyshop before and this is one of the most laid back race series out there. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll post more info as I get it.

I think I may run a stock motor in the electric sedan.

By the way here is the address and phone :
12480 Dillingham Square
Lake Ridge, VA 22192
703.590.9890

The races will be held in the parking lot in front of the store, and the hobby shop will be open during the race.

I am from Hobbytown in Glen Burnie, Maryland and we have an outdoor track as well. We also have a RC club that has some info on us. I will let everyone know you guys have a track and maybe we can come down some Sunday and race. Here is the link to our club's website. Good luck.

I'm in stafford and very interested in participating and helping out with whatever is necessary. I'm assuming using Jlap means the races will support personal amb transponders? Who's the race coordinator / organizer? What type of barriers are going to be used.

Default p-lot races

Personal transponder do indeed work and house transponders will be available as well. Jack is the owner of the hobby shop and also puts on the races. He can be reached at the store most of the time. The track is a plastic pvc like material. It is very easy on cars. I'll post some pics from when we raced a couple years back so you can see what the track looked like.

Looks like RoadRails. Expensive stuff, but I agree nice and portable.

It is road rail and it's very easy on the cars. I would like to run mod sedan and maybe even 12th. Stock and or 19t would be great as well.

I wouldnt say i 'run' anywhere in stafford.... I've been to awesome a few times, but on road interests me more. Got my cars ready to run, but with work and kids getting up to the track or the C just hasnt worked out for me this year at all. I've practiced with my cars in local parking lots, and in my dads church gym, (tight weave carpet) I live in widewater, about as close to quantico as you can be without being onbase, no extreme north stafford. Commute out to herndon right by the airport for work.
