Racing under the light was great. The temp was cool. didn't really have to think about hot weather and gearing your car for it. It was refreshing to run under the lights.
We were also able to run 4 qualifiers and the main.
Tim you blew it stuard ain't blowing it no more. He is rocking the boat. At the 17.5 class. In an interview he said he wants to move up . He feels ready for the 13.5. In my opinion he should move up in 1 or 2 weeks and the Cornman returns to the scene. He took some time off to cool his engines and return with a clear prospective. He moved up to the big boys arena and looked really good and sharp. He slapped on a 13.5 motor on his exray and was whipping through the infield like a mad dog in heat, taking no prisoners. I tell you there's a lot of xray power at T&L.
Choa's Losi battles for survival. Choas recent purchase of the tops car puts he's losi out of the scene. The only one left will probably be Terry the Terra Liable. It seems like Choas car doesn't want to leave the scene. Choas been driving the graphite out of that car. Every week he's been smooth and looking good. Choa in my opinion if it ain't broke don't fix it.
On Friday July 3 Choa "the rc farmer" battled Tim "you ain't blowing it anymore stuard" to the very end, Putting on a driving clinic for the crowd. What's next for Choa the rcfarmer, well the tops car in which he already have in his possession. Sorry losi it seems like your reins is about to end. Choas Losi memorial wake will be announced soon.....Celebrities like the Commander and chief, Ron the goat, Rocketman, Paposwing, The magicman,The silent assassin, Breakdown Alvin,The Hired Gunn and the list goes on....
Paposwing discover the meaning of life!! "Speed, Speed and more Speed" using the pro 3 he geared up, changed esc profiles and geared up some more and matched speed with the others.Yea baby now im cooking!!!! but i got to get off my lid. Got hacked a few times. The car flipped on its lid. After that it was hard to catch up to competition like Elijah, Rocketman Don Juan to name a few. Can't run the car upside down..Humm!!! Maybe if i put wheels on my lid. Rocketman gears up down same results, fast!
Orlando came late and wasn't planning on running. Later in the day he changed his mind. He ran 1 heat and received the call. It came from his sponsors, They were checking him out via satellite. Orlando was told to pick his sponsors up. Orlando left the scene in the middle of the heats to pick up the sponsors. Later that evening Orlando arrives back to the scene, and a serious of test began. Esc and motors were tested. Orlando pulls out the laptop and goes to work. .
Orlando starts testing a series of motor and esc brands. He gets timed by the sponsors during the competition. Sponsor are not really happy with the results and a serious of meetings take place in the backroom. Orlando was called to the back room and sees sponsors consulting with Mr Elijah. Orlando gets handed a mysterious box by the sponsor and the Magic Man Mr.Elijah. Does anyone smell what Orlando's cooking. Don't know yet, but he's planning something. I asked Orlando what going on. He reply: in a few, I'm coming with a bang!! Watch out buddy I'm going to tear up the track and i got a few victims lined up. I asked Orlando, is Breakdown involved, he said "ahhh please, I'm done with breakdown, in our last meeting i broke him down". So I'm moving on. Done with the old, on with the new....thats all i got to say about that!!!!
In an interview i asked Rocketman why his performance has suffered a bit in recent races. He replied; i keep trying to help others and i barely have time to get to my car. From now on i got to due me. If they need advice ill give it or tell then how to do it. I need to concentrate to be able to put down some decent performances. From now on i will do me, the guys already have the touring concept down. On a few occasions i went out with discharged batteries thinking that they were charge. Wheels loose, thinking they were tight, and loosing then during the race. All that is lack of concentration. Need to get it right. So fellows i won't be wrenching on anyones car leading to that day. My advice to all the young cats learn your trait.
Let me just say that i didn't get all the result sheets. So heres a quick breakdown of the events on Friday.
Round 3
13.5 Heat 1
In this heat Rocketman was showing signs of his old self, putting up good numbers. Rocketman takes this one with 27 laps followed by Cornell with 25, Elijah , Paposwing and Don Juan got out early with car troubles.Orlando did not start, he received a call and left to find out what the meaning of life.
Round 4
17.5 heat 1
Tim Stuart was rocking in every round. Giving everyone a hard Tim. In this round Choa the rc farmer was challenging Tim all through the race. From lap 1 to his last lap. Every time the announcer said Tim they said Choa. They were bumper to bumper, but at the end it was Tim who came on top with the victory. It was very close. Tim had 25 laps in 6:04 and Choa 25 in 6:05 . Jeff Andre had 23 laps ,Nate the new comer had 23 and Steve had 17... to bad Ben wasn't able to run on this one since his was challenging Tim the times he ran in the early rounds. Can't display then because i didn't have the result sheets for some of the rounds. my apologies for that.
13.5 Heat 1
There was fast pace racing. Elijah, Paposwing, Cornell, Orlando, Juan and Rocketman putting it all down. But at the end it was Elijah who outlaped the competition with 28 laps followed by Paposwing with 26 laps, Cornell with 25, Orlando with a great effort also with 25, Don Juan with 25 and Rocketman who's kitchen aid company of soup and crackers was munch down by the Commander and his Sidekick. Leaving him blue and sour for eating that dam burger! Now Rocketman is trying to rekindle the broken ties with the movement....Thats going to be a hard one to sell.
A main 17.5
Tim and Choa battled during this main. From lap # 1 to the last lap. Just like i said before Tim ain't messing around anymore.. hes laying it down. Tim ran through the competition only been challenged by Choa. At the end of the race Choa was bumber to bumber with Tim. Choa made a few mistakes that probably cost him the race while Tim on cruise control and flawless took the win. Tim had 26 laps, followed by Choa, Jeff Andre, Nate, Steve and Ben who did not start. Ben was handling he's business at the store etc...
A main 13.5
In this main every one was fast at the beginning of the race. Paposwing dropped off, Rocketman left for about 2 minutes with car troubles but came back to finish.Tim thought he was dancing with the stars. Putting on a Marshalling show for his fans. Every time he went to pick up a car it seems he was doing the Flintstones yaba-daba-du dance, and the thing was that in a few occasions he landed on his back and had the drivers and everyone else in stitches. Even while Marshalling Breakdown Alvin was face down on the blacktop laughing at Tims Marshalling style. I got to say it was really funny....
Any way Elijah took this one with 27 laps followed by Don Juan, Cornell who stepped up to 13.5 and did extremely well with 25, Orlando with 23 and Rocketman with 16 laps and Paposwing was out early.
The race recap will be posted earlier next time.. no interruption, my promise!!!!
Wish I could have made it looks like it was a fun one.
I want to throw out an olive branch here. I run the website for the T&L Oval racing. If you guys are interested, I have no problem posting your (On-Road) race results, pictures, contact info, race reports and/or whatever else. I know Oval and On-Road will not exist on the same day, but as long as the bashing and trash talking stops, I have no problems with doing this. We want to gain more racers on each day. If an off-road program starts up, I can add that too. Our current site is trainsandlanesracing.com. So if you guys want to work together, my email address is frank.mertz@gmail.com. Send me the info you want.
