Its on
It was a very nice a warm day lets kick it off with these 2 competitors.
Jeff Andre The Specialist and Nate "The Quit Storm" goes to battle. Old lion against young lion. Nate a new competitor in the scene trying to get in the competitive ranks. As he takes on a veteran racer like the specialist and his bag of tricks..In heat 1 it was a battle. Back and forth they went.Exchanging leads many times. Jeff with his facial nodding, head shaking, eye rolling daaa's, occasionally glancing at Nate trying to make his statement. Nate occasionally passing and taking the lead, but at the same time while leading showing his inexperience by hiding the boards. I must say for a new guy doing pretty well. As always Jeff at the drivers stand looking like nothing in this world is going to stop him from enjoying his race day. Specially not the hunger of a young lion like Nate "The Quiet Storm". Now don't let the inexperience of this competitor fool you, just read his name "Quiet storm". he's new but can also sneak in and demolish your game plan. I will give him a few weeks to be in the competitive ranks of the 17.5.
In the last few weeks theirs been sighting of a shooting star like object in the sky's at trains and lanes. Well at lease thats what a few people called it. But i new better.
It was another new comer " The Ironman". another young fella that popped up in the scene. For his second week is doing pretty good also. He's another one trying to make his mark against the specialist. I got to tell you, he ain't having it. Jeff's message to the youngster, "you can't put a price on time. Its a process and we all got to go through it, plain and simple or should i say, period!!!"
It seem like on sat July 18 was a day for Jeff to take these guys to school during the heats. For the most parts he showed how experience can keep you cool, calm and collected during a race.
Now lets talk about carlitos, leading the ranks of the 17.5. After the departure of Cornell and Tim Stuart from the 17.5 class, the class itself needed a superstar.Choa was moving up in the ranks but it was the off road veteran but new on the on-road scene Carlitos who did the move. Stepping up and becoming to the man at the 17.5 ranks..Week after week he's been putting it down at a very fast pace. To be honest, at this point i would love to see a show down between Tim "you blew it" Stuart, Cornell "The Cornman" and "Show Time"Carlitos..This will be a nice one to see... is funny to me how these guys approach the after race kind of the same but in a different matter. Example Cornell, when he doesn't win a race that he should off won, he gets very upset with himself but still very approachable and friendly. With Tim Stuart is more like pressure on himself and disappointment in a down way. And Carlos is ahhh! ill get him next time attitude. All these guys have a very strong competitive nature. It would be a blast to see them go at it in the 17.5 class.
Now on to the heats
In another battle of the Young, Dillon "Mission Impossible" Hontz and Zach "Zdub"Walters. These guys were also going at it for the most part of the day.
In round 3 Zach "Zdub" Walters and Dillon "Mission impossible" Hontz battled through out the race. From start to finish. Dillon takes this one with 20 laps followed by Zdub with 20 laps Kenny Jr with 18, Steve with 16 and Ron and Ed Rusek out early.
B main
As i said before Zach "Zdub" Walters and Dillon "Mission Impossible" Hontz were back at it. In the beginning of the race they took off and it was a matter of witch one wanted it the most.
From lap 1 they were at it. Making contact with a what ever it took to win and not letting off. Mid through the race Dillon while passing Zdub made contact putting zdub on the wall splattering lexon and rainbow colors all over the wall. Dillon out of courtesy waited. Zdub regrouped, and the race continued with Dillon in the lead. After that incident Dillon hits the wall cost by his imaginary Friend and zdub took the lead. leading the way to the victory. It was a close one. Zdub wins with 20 laps, Dillon with 20 laps, Ron with 18 laps, Steve with 16, Ed with 12 and Kenny Jr DNS.
Carlos taking round 1,2 and 3. Dominating the 17.5. Choa taking 2nd in round 1,2, and 3.in round 2. Carlos won followed by Choa, Joel,Steve and Ron.
in round 3 Carlos won with 23 laps followed by Choa, Jeff, Rich, Nate.
