Default Stock Nationals(offroad)

Stock Nats update(tue)

The track and pit area at C.R.A. is great!! Mark and the crew did a great job.
The track open at 10 with about 1/2 of the people showing up to practice today. The crew watered apx every 45 min or so, the track held up well. There are 6 sets of doubles one to a table top and two in a double double section in front of the drivers stand, straight is on back side of track(will put up photos on wed night, forgot the camera today).
Dave Gullickson and Chad Kramer from axiom motors were busy working on motors most of the day! Jeff Phelps from team losi was there in the afternoon to help the losi guys with setups.Corner marshals were in short supply most of the day, but there was a hand full of people that did most of the work, thanks guys(I will try to get names next time).Parts are adv in the on site hobby shop Aerosports % hobbies and from a-mains new parts trailer for the Canby track, also Rcplus brought allot of parts in boxes if needed! The track closed at 6 pm tonight and opens at 10 Wednesday morning.

Well so long for know I well post again on wed night with some pictures also I hope!!!

Stock Nats update(Wed)

The track opened at 10 am and the drivers stand was full all day, run in 7 min heats with water every other heat. The traction was allot more consistent today and most people got there cars dialed in much better and started working on motors. Truck gearing is apx 18 /88 for losi and buggy is apx 23/82 most of the jumps are doable, but you better be set up for it or you aren't going to make it.Corner marshals were still in short supply all day( I never say a sponsored or local fast guy out there in the last two days) with the exception of Scott brown would help out when he was timing for one of the asc drivers.Tires were still an issue truck silvers were at a premium and was a limiting factor on new sign ups( not cra fault they tried to get more).I would like to say again that the crew at C.R.A.. is doing a great job!!!!!!Well we start practice heats on Thursday so maybe I will bring home some results to post on who's fast and who's not check the link below for photos

WOW, the track looks very nice. Good luck with the race. How many entries did they get?

A good friend is hosting the ROAR Mod Nat's in 3 weeks. www.tiltyard.com I'm looking forward to the nat's. I'm only 2 hours from the track which means I can be there to practice until you can't.

Stock Nats Update(Fri)

Day one of qualifying was a great day they opened with the drivers meeting at 10am after 2 hr of practice. mark and his crew did a great job of informing all racers of the rules including a new on , you go to tech after you race then go to prestage for corner marshals. So you don't corner right after you race but one race later!! After getting use to it it worked very well. Then they paled the mighty mouse song to introduced the announcer(Brian Marcroft) that's his nick name because he is vertically challenged!!. one of the racers sang the national anthem and did a very good job . than we did concourse the winner was a xxx buggy with allot of detail, second was a xxx-t with a sponge bob paint job blue and pink very bright!!!Sorry I forgot the names will try to get them on sat and post then.

I just wanted to add in the Stock Nationals ran at CRA in Portland, Oregon was some of the best racing I have seen in a very long time... Mark, Jody and crew were exceptional at making sure it was fun and fair for all... ROAR's motto... and I certainly enjoyed myself.

Big thanks to Tim.... good job of being the event's referee. He only levied a few penalties for rough driving and since I was sitting right there to observe, I agreed with every decision he made.... good knowledge of racing rules as was the entire facility - they put on one heck of a show.

A few DQ's from tech - some guys didn't have tags on their armatures.. wierd huh? The mix up of switching the arms and the cans did not incur DQ's for those drivers - that was a tech error and the penalty was reversed.

Only one major penalty for having a radio turned on in the pit - this is what made the change on the main sheets on Sunday. Rules state first time is a one lap penalty and if deemed as an intentional act, full DQ from the event. I did not find this young man intentionally left his radio on his table, turned on with no crystal in it as intentional, so he was only docked a lap off his best qualifier - which moved him from the C main to the D main of buggy.

Good job Mark, Jody and all!! I will certainly be back!
