Think I'm gonna give this a go this year. Really want to do some more racing. Did someone say 'Masters' class?

If you have a minimum weight rule, Lipos have a power disadvantage, since they have lower discharge voltage than a decent NiMh pack. They can somewhat make up for that in mod, because they can sustain higher current discharge = you can pull a taller gear.

In stock or 19T, you don't even come close to using the current discharge capacity they have. They are more consistent in stock/19T, but they're not faster in any way when weight is taken out of the equation.

I know that I'm not going out and spending hundreds of of $$$ for batteries and support equipment to go back to NiMh.

No lipos will be allowed in 2008 in the rookie, stock or 19t classes. I am still debating the mod classes at this time. Once again it is something we will look at and discuss in 2008 for the 2009 season.

Hey Bob, are some of those kids passing you now? Who will move up the pros this year? As a pit dad, you see it over time how each racer improves. A few have quit just before they master their driving skills. But to the that ones have endured going every year, their results show in the point standing. Thanks to Jimmy for this excellent series that give us this opportunity to spend time with our kids. Sorry Bob, there's still wild trigger kids out there that take you out in a heartbeat.

Just so they are here. Classes are as follows.

Rookie (run what you brung trucks and buggies)
Sportsman stk buggy
Sprotsman stk truck
Exp stk buggy
Exp stk truck
19T buggy
19T truck
Mod Buggy
Mod Truck
Mod 4wd

AS you can see there are many classes already offered for the JBRL. That is most of the reason it is hard to add spec BL classes to this list. BL motors will be allowed in all mod class though!
