Awesome.... thanks for the news panda!

I've been waiting 19 years to run F1 at the Nationals.

Waaay back in '98, if I had known then -- what I know now -- I would have pulled over and stopped short before the finish line -- so SOMEONE ELSE could wait 19 years to run F1 at the Nationals!!!

I blame Japan. They should have allowed F1 for one more year so you would have to wait until your 20 year anniversary ! It will be strange watching the F1 mains instead of battling with you guys this year but I will be back in action at next years regionals.

Hi All. The stack of boxes is getting unmanageable so I have to thin the heard. There will be a decently loaded TA07 Pro available at Tamiya tomorrow. Just look for a box with a for sale sign.

I'm building a tt-02r for my wife. She will be running the spec novice class. My question is can I put inserts in the 26mm tires? Or do they run with no inserts?

We have always run inserts in the spec class. Just the kit foam.

The question I had for Fred was "Now that my 2 year wait after winning the trip class is up, leaving me eligible for GT1 and another chance to win a trip ( yeh right, but seriously,) did I have to run GT1 at a Regional this year to qualify for GT1 at Nats as it seemed to be stated in the new rules?

I hope I'm just misunderstanding the rules since I went all in with all new GT1 gear to finally give Touring Cars a full effort and not just have one as my second to F1 ride.

Fred? Anyone?

Also, will be looking to buy a set of Solaris tires immediately, like today at Tamiya if anyone happens to have an extra set "handy".

I am assuming I will be eligible for, however not really a threat in GT1.

Like you did Panda, F1 is probably gonna get set aside for now.
Cuda:

The rules re GT1 and past champions are why Nathan and I won't be at Nationals this year. Although I participated in GT1 in 2017 Regionals, Nathan's last race in GT1 was in 2016 (he wasn't able to go to a 2017 Regional race this year - our "local" track track closed, and the new Chicagoland area track didn't have the anticipated 2017 midwest area Regional race (not Tamiya's fault)), so by the rules he doesn't qualify for entry in Nationals for 2017. While everyone else gets a "participate in this year OR last years (2016) regionals" to be able to participate in 2017 Nationals, for past trip winners it is more limiting - past champs "MUST" have participated in GT1 in 2017 to be able to enter GT1 for 2017 Nationals. With one of us qualified to run, and Nathan not qualified to run, we decided to skip this years Nationals. (And the fact he is getting married in October 2017 made his vacation days scarce.) Fortunately, I caught the rules problem after making hotel reservations (cancelable without penalty) but before I made the airline reservations! Hopefully Nathan will be able to get to a Regionals race in 2018 in Omaha (the closest place for us to now participate in a TCS Regional) and allow us to come to 2018 Nationals. Or maybe the Chicagoland area carpet track (a beautiful facility) will agree and qualify to host a TCS Regional race for 2017 (not holding my breath for that). And I'm still holding out hope that FWD will be a class for 2018 Nationals - we both love those cars, still sitting in boxes and expecting that they would be run in 2017 Nationals!

This is the spec tire for all sedan classes at TCS Nationals only for now. We might use it for next year regionals too but will have to wait and see.
