GT1

#01 - Team HRP
TC5/Brushless 4300/Lipo

Defending champs Ed and Jason have their shell choice hidden from the masses. This team won last year but not without challenges. During the event the silver part of the deans connector got so hot it pulled out of the housing during a battery change. Good luck in a field full of GT1 cars chasing after the title.

GT1

#03 - Team Kendall - Saleen
TA04/Checkpoint 19T/NiMH/Sorex

Team Kendall came fully prepared but not to change the motor 4 times! They fought hard to get on the podium with their TA04 chassis. But the Team is determined to produce results this year with the same chassis but stronger Checkpoint motor in the chassis this time.

Hi Matt,

I will post your questions with answers in both places for everyone to read.

1. We would love the help. We've been doing this for a while so I think just helping unload the gear or hanging a banner or two but there's not much else to do.

2. Yes, you do need your own driver stand. We have been using a metal stand that's 16" off the ground and enough for one person to stand on at a time. Several people use their pit boxes. Some bring small 2-3 step ladders but those always seem unbalanced. Everyone will be on the sidewalk on the north side of the parking lot. The pit compound will be on the east or west side depending on what you prefer. Many prefer the east side.

3. We are not planning on A/C power being provided. But that could change if needed. Wisperlight generators are $75 a day and they output 400 amps. That would be a nice solution if you guys plus everyone else needs the power.

4. Everything is repair-able (if that's a word). You can replace everything during the event. And let's hope there is very little replacing. You may also have a T-car (spare) ready to go but it's entrance into the race must be announced to the ASERS Race Director (me) but must be inspected prior to the race and wear the same shell that was entered into the race.

I will be handing out number stickers in the morning. I still need everyone's AMB number. I'm sorry about the 100º forecast but last year we ran in May and for some strange Utah reason it was 90º+ that day too.

Ben, a couple of questions for you:

1. Rod and I would like to come early and help with setup if you feel that would be beneficial. What time do you think you'll begin the setup?

2. I heard that we're responsible for driver stands. Is this the case. Out of curiosity, will people setup their driver stands at any point around the outside of the track (such as next to their pit pavilion) or will we be putting them all in one location?

3. Will A/C power be available and is there any concern of tripping breakers due to 4892847 chargers running at once? J At the moment Rod and I don't have access to a generator so we'd like to begin to make plans to find one if need be.

4. My impression for what can be changed out on the car during pits is that most anything can be swapped out. If a motor burns out we can swap it, if a chassis breaks (heaven forbid) we could change it, etc. But simply swapping the entire car for a backup car is not permitted if I'm guessing right. Could you confirm?

Thanks!

Matt Lund (Team Wasatch R/C)
