Default 2006 Texas State Championship Race

Just to let the readers know, here's some information about the upcoming 2006 Texas State Championship Race being held at Mike's Hobby Shop in Dallas, TX.

Dates are March 24-26. Friday practice, Saturday qualifiying, Sunday mains.

Details and an entry form posted at http://www.mikeshobbyshop.com/

It's a really fun event. Fantastic facility. Indoor On-road and Off-road. Last year there was a pretty big turnout. Drawings for prizes.

I think most all of the big electric racers from Texas and the surrounding states make it out. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the following guys there:

Kyle Skidmore
Quincy Hughes
Kraig Kruger
Ron Atomic
Michael Toth
David Joor
Tye Love
RJ Scadden
Andy Cresswell
Greg Hodapp
Tyler Keel

and if the local RC America guys are up to it, then you could see Ralph Burch and Mike Dumas as well.

I think there were over a hundred race entries last year.

So come on out to Dallas and race!

I am sure it was simply oversite that led to my name being left off the list of quality Texas drivers

Mike's Hobby Shop is a great facility! Unfortunately the Trackside Grill has closed down but there is a McDonald's a couple blocks away and Pizza Hut delivers.

The tires of choice for Offroad trucks are Losi Silver Directionals upfront and either Holeshots or Square Fuzzies in the rear.

My apologies for anyone who didn't make the list. It's simply a list of people that I've seen at the track. I'm afraid I don't know everyone

When you say 100 entries, is that individual racers or like 1 guy in 3 classes? We have 180+ entries at our bi-weekly club races...

Wish I still lived in Texas. I would certainly be hitting this event. Instead, I have to look out my window at all the snow here in Michigan. BLAH!

Hey Tony,

I'm not at all sure, but I think there might have been 100-150 entries last time. Figure that's about 75 racers, or so?

I know the shop was packed and the pit space was full.

But that was just the first year... I'm thinking it'll be bigger this year... Mike's got some nice CRC Fastrack carpet installed just a few months ago.

wow, finally on a list I can only assume its not in skill order

There were over 100 people racing last time I beleive. We started the quals on sat at 10am and were done after midnight!

Its a lot of fun running both on and off road the same day! You get to see both groups of racers that normally don't overlap.

I am sure 'the smack' will be laid down this year by the locals....
