At the top of your screen click 'control panel', then 'edit options'. The max size is 80x80.

Default Help!!

Can someone tell ME:

1. How do I do an avatar? I've followed the directions and got "stuck" in the same place the other guy did. What do I do?

2. How do I do a poll? I want to get some feedback in a specific way by doing a poll. What do I do?

Thanks in advance!

In order to post an avatar, you need to have a picture that is small - let's say around 80x80. I don't think there is any rule saying how small, but that's a nice small size (mine is 77x80) and seems to be fairly typical.

DON'T go huge. It is irritating and many forums will kill them.

Second, make sure it's fairly small in size. Mine is 2.5K. Just use MSPaint (start-run-mspaint.exe) and you can save-as a jpg. That works well.

Third, go into the Control Panel, choose Edit Options on the nav-bar and then scroll down and click on the button where it says "Change Avatar"

Where it says "You can upload an avatar from your computer:" click on the browse button and find where you saved your small pic. When you find it, upload it (click OK) and then click "Submit Modifications" and you should be golden.

If it stalls, it means that your computer is trying to upload the pic TO rctech. I'm not sure if there are any limits, but I know that it takes up Futureal's bandwidth and costs him money for every attachment like that.

I would suggest a way of putting pictures inside your message - rather than having to click on the little paper clip thing and only having one picture per post.

You'd have to upload your picture to a website. If you have an internet connection (and, duh, you obviously do! ) you likely have a free website. Contact your ISP and get the information on how to upload pictures.

Then, type [ img ] (minus the extra spaces) plus the full web location (like http://www.malsed.com/images/thisimage.jpg) and then [ /img ] (minus the extra spaces)

If you substitute square brackets for the squiggly ones. . .

{img}http://www.malsed.com/images/BoomSig.jpg{/img} would yield:

This takes up less bandwidth on rctech's site and enables you to embed pictures INSIDE of your post. . .

I hope this helps! If not, ask more and I'll try to help. . .

I cannot change to another custom avatar. A popup box says I do not have permission to do that task.

What should I do?

I hope I got to the right thread.

Just want to ask if anybody can help me in creating my own avatar. Pretty much what I want is my avatar to switch from different photos of my cars.

Thanks,
ROy
