Default Search broken?

I've been getting incomplete search results lately. Most newer posts aren't showing up. It seems like it isn't indexing new threads.

I noticed it in the for sale forum first. I was looking for my own post and search couldn't find it. I tried looking for any of my posts by content and it couldn't find any of them. I was only able to find my posts by searching by user name. I also tried it with some other users' posts on different forums as well and it had the same problem.

Is the search function broken or is this by design?

The search is still not functioning properly. The site needs to be re-indexed and the threads updated. This site as a source of information or the Classifieds are useless without the search feature functioning.

And with the "bumping" rule in place, the Classifeds are a mess.

+1 on the search engine. I search for my own threads in the for sale section and they do not show up. If I can't search for them, others can not as well.

Yeah, something bad definitely happened last night. I had a for sale thread completely disappear, and so did many others it seems.

not sure how the bumping rule affects the search feature...

all we are doing is stopping ppl from excessively bumping their threads per the forum rules

please explain...

The massive amount of database errors I've been getting recently might have something to do with it

The Classifieds are moving at an insanely fast rate lately, and something posted this morning can be 6 or 7 pages back by the evening. With the crack-down on thread bumping, things are vanishing off of the radar in short order. Frankly, there is more than enough traffic for split out Classifed sections at the very least.

That, and the fact that for some reason the posts from the last few days are randomly disappearing. No wonder I wasn't getting any response to any of my Classifieds.

More than frustrating.

the bumping rule helps this, because it is only getting bumped once per day....the threads dont get lost in one day...the only way the threads disappear is if there is a rules violation(or the site kicks a bunch like last week)

the classifieds are are difficult enough to monitor, be lucky they are still around....they take up 90 percent of my time.....

if ppl would be adults and not bump more than once per day, things would ge better, if someone wants what you have it will sell

bumping doesnt make it sell...

The search is not returning complete results. If I search for Spektrum or Kyosho in the For Sale forum you may get a few current results for that day (5 max) and then it drops to 2005 or older.

This is also the case in individual threads, try searching for 10.5 or setup in the T4/B4 thread and you get no results.

Hope this helps because there is so much useful info on this site that you cannot access with the search being broken. What is worse is you cannot flame noobs for not using the search function

I sent you a PM explaining the problem I noticed.

Here's what is happening. When I go into the for sale section, I search for my threads to do a daily bump and they do not come up on the search results page. I can find them if I go page by page to look for them, so I know they are not deleted. Any ideas?
