Default Reviews on Passion of the Christ.

Has anybody seen it,

If so what did you think. From a christian viewpoint.

And is it worth seeing.

Thanks all.

Bloody, violent, brutal. Accurate representation of a first century Roman crucifixion. If you're not a history buff, it will give you a totally new view on the exact price our Savior paid for your soul and mine. Kinda reinforces the scandalous nature of Grace to understand exactly what was endured to save me...

HOWEVER...

It is also dripping with extra-biblical Catholic dogma. Approach the movie carefully, read the Gospel accounts before and after to reinforce the good and to discern the questionable "extra stuff". Go into the movie understanding that it IS NOT based on the Bible, but is based on the dreams of a 19th century Catholic nun.

Ok thanks heaps.

I will have to get it and have a look.

So as this is a christian thread. I take it you guys go to church.

I'm sure there is a wide range of denominations.

What are some of you guys. Where is your church etc.

I just started going to an A.O.G church in Sydney Australia.

Called Hillsong .

They get about 4000 on a sunday. And just had a conferecne here last week that had 20 000 in one stadium and 15 000 next door.

It's amazing to see how big this church is.

I didn't go see it and not going to...just the way I feel. When I pray and seek Jesus' face, I don't want to think of a hollywood actor. Here is a link that might help.

It is coming out soon on DVD. I think that more people will be positively effected by what Christ paid for us!

For me, I plan to see it when it comes available on video, but I am not so concerned or believe people should be so concerned with how Jesus died in as much as how he lived and the message that he brought. Cruxifictions in general were brutal, so his death will be brutal.

To me people get caught up too much in the way he died and miss his message.

Hillsong is the BOMB! Cool for you. I have been hearing about them for years, both in the states and when I used to live in the UK.

The movie is worth seeing. It has opened up all sorts of opportunities for me to be able to talk with people about Jesus Christ.

I would highly recommend reading the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John before you see the movie, or at least right after. That will help you sort things. In many ways it is the closest thing seen on the big screen to the real event.

My personal review is that it is generally good, but just about anything having to deal with Judas in the movie is WEIRD. The crow scene and the blood scene pouring on the soldier are not in the Bible.

Just read the Bible first and carefully.

God bless,

Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

Yeah Hillsong had been doing heaps at the moment.

They released there latest c.d a couple of weeks ago, and it went to no 1 on the Aria charts.

Which is amazing for a worship cd.
I don't think it has ever happened before in Australia.

That is very cool. There is a lot of good stuff that is coming out of Australia right now. I am amazed by the number of publications on Creationism are coming from there. Your country is on the cutting edge of a lot of Christian ministries.
