Default wtb rtr around $100

Like the title says I'm looking to get my boy started in racing. He absolutely loves going to watch and now he wants to get started. Looking for something he can get started in. Preferably electric. Thanks

You should buy a used Traxxas Slash. They are about 140 RTR, minus battery.

Check your local Craigslist. I'd sell you mine, but it's not worth it to ship.

You are better off buying a Slash as I mentioned.

Cheap is not good, but I tried.

I'd get a slash to but you can only lead a horse. I have a 2 wheel drive slash roller I could put together brushed or brushless. And do it totally rtr but 100 won't touch it. 175 brushed maybe. I have one of those spatha sct.they are definitely a beginner rig. But do come with metal dogbones and many aluminum hop ups Available through atomik or Asia tees.

Locally, they will sell for $140 used here, minus a battery. That's a steal. They are extremely tough cars that are great for for younger kids (and adults). They even have a training mode for those who want to learn.

Or buy a new one, but used is 1/2 the price.

Keep watch o Craigslist as mentioned. Used Slash, Stampedes, Bandits , and Rustlers can all be had for 100 to 150. Dont overlook short course trucks like the HPI Blitz, Associated SC10, or a Losi.

DON'T throw away your money on cheap, no name mail order rc trucks or buggies. Materials are inferior and where they cut costs the most is crappy electronics. You can upgrade them all you want but they'll still be inferior th a stock Slash. No local parts support or resale value either. I'm watching a young kid that lives by my folks go through this. His parents bought a cheapie The receiver and esc are one unit and its not working, never did work right. Set screws and such were vibrating out. Always had range problems. Its a 4x4 that was 125 new. Very frustrating for anyone, especially a youngster. He's a very polite and well mannered youngster. Very respectful. He's going to get my old Stampede as a gift if his parents approve. Guess I got off subject but I just can't say enough about avoiding off brand rc stuff. Good luck and have fun with your buying experience!!
