Default Exotek chassis for HPI micro RS4

howdy RC techies, I'm looking for the Exotek chassis for the HPI micro RS4. If any of you kind folks find this or has one, not only is the C.I.A., ATF and I.R.S. will be looking for you but so will I. You can pm me and let me know how much it's gonna cost me or maybe we can use the old bartering system which I prefer. Well, yall have a good day now you hear.

Default Micro rs4

Hay i have two micro rs4's with carbon fiber chassis and upper decks on them. Never been used. Not sure if they are the exotek or another. Do you have info on this?

Thanks Blind! Yeah, I missed it when Exotek came out with it. For some time, the mini rs4 died down and now almost completely gone out of sight. The Xray M18 Pro is actually a better car then the HPI but at that price, the 18R associated would just dominate. The Exotek just looks too nice and it belongs on the shelf as a reminder that a good design can be better.

I guess the HPI micro RS4 wasn't a very popular car since no one upgraded it to the Exotek. I got to keep my hopes up.

the micro rs4 was extremely popular, unfortunately you won't like this but the exotec was one of the worst handling chassis you could upgrade to for it, I tried all of them and the exotec was by far the most prone to tweak changes just from driving the car, it was real bad.

looks cool though, another cool looking but poorly handling chassis was the IPD 140mm pan chasssis.

A friend of mine has one and I practiced with it on a pack. I was doing very well with it, better then the stock setup and better than Team Orion's graphite chassis. I also have a chassis made out of titanium but that one was prone to tweaking. Basically, the micro rs4 wasn't really a contender compared to xray m18.

the orion graphite chassis is too stiff, the micro rs4 needs the same basic setup as a 1/10 or 1/12 scale pan car to drive well, a flexible rear end that doesn't bind.

if you want to see a really well handling micro, drive one with a modded ARM pan chassis (rear suspension area chopped for more flex) with no upper deck and no rear shock or spring, it will run circles around an m18.

i'm beginning to feel like this thread is becoming more of a monologue and blind is my alter ego. if someone don't hand over the exotek chassis, darn it, I'm gonna build me a pan chassis from thin frp using the micro setup. Last call before I toss this thread in the dumpster.

Hmmm, the exotek's were unbeatable when I or Thad Garner raced them every month at the 'micro nats' saturday nights at Socal way back when. In the right hands they were a beast Good times!

Those were good times, I was there racing with you

I could never get my exotek dialed, but the ARM was perfect for me with no tweaking needed.

Mike, so what happened to your Exotek setup and your buddy's Exotek. Mind digging it out for me...to have. I'll keep my hopes up...but I'm sure you sold it some time ago. Maybe I'll give Exotek and call to see if they can run a production of it again.
