If you are looking to start nitro racing you must have a track near you. I would see if they have a monster truck class or 1/10th gas truck.

Your best bet would be to start out with a Traxxas if you decide on monster truck. The 3.3 Revo is the best performing monster truck. The Tmaxx is slightly easier to work on. Traxxas engines are really durable and easy to tune.

1/10th gas truck might be something to look at as well. You can get one for pretty cheap too.

I really like what big midget is offering. I also like the jato 3.3 but isn't that thing a little low I will be practicing a lot in some grass won't it drag a bit and put unneeded stress on the engine and such. I was up for a long time last night. Just looking... and there are so many options and types to choose from. I am no pro... I'm just looking for a good all around. Can anyone tell me more about this revo truck? Thankx

Go to Traxxas.com and that will tell you everything you need to know. I started out with a Traxxas Rustler (electric) when I got into the hobby. Traxxas is definitely a good starting point.

I am going to go ahead and take the advice of most of my Pm's and that is to buy new. I understand that I have no idea what I'm actually getting may be an old motor or slipping trans. i will no doubt come back here for parts and support in the future. Thanks so much for all your support and for breaking it down so a dumbie can understand. now its time to make the wife mad and go spend 100's of $ lol thanks again all.

well... i think i will go with the big ass REVO 3.3 it looks pretty cool i think. But to tell you the truth, I really have no Idea what I'm doing I'm basing all my decisions on other peoples opinions. And I never do this... guess you gotta start somewhere. Ill probably get it take it all apart and mod the crap out of it before i ever run it. All i know is the last RC car i had was from radio shack and i was like 10... I have been into modding my sport bikes for so long i need a new hobby thats a bit cheaper and immediately rewarding... and this is for sure... Ive got a lot to learn on here over the next couple weeks just to get the basics.

I hope to hear and learn more from all you all that have been so cool and patient w/ me. OH and PS I'm thinking of getting the truck from Tower Hobbies there price came in about 66?.00 ish with gas and shipped. is this about right? or am i getting ripped?
