AMB systems that do personals only have 10 house transponders because if everyone has personals than no need to pay for 20

Not true. My local club has the first personal system AND 20 transponders. Why? The whole personal thing was brand new and very few people had personals back then. When you have 60 people coming to race and only 4 or 5 have transponders, you need 20.

Plus, I know of another track that has 20 as well.

Two different decoders: AMB 20, old type of system does not use personals.
AMBrc and AMBrc3, both use personals and rechargeable AMBrc loaners.

None of the above will accept personals.. Sales didn't overlap... and are all 12+ years old.... still a lot of them around. No upgrade available to accept PT's, but AMB is/has offered trade-in incentives.

Like Joe said, only the AMBrc, (came out around 1998-99) the AMBrc3 (came out 06) will accept personals.
