The EVO V is the hottest car in the Tamiya TCS community. Shaft drive cars are on the comeback because brushless motors have less polar momentum and does not produces the torque steer of the past. Plus they spool up very quickly, especially for spec racing where you are looking for minimum drive train resistance. With a ThunderPower 5000/40C and a Tekin RS, the car almost balances perfectly.
This was the most expensive car that Tamiya made. It cost more than the TRF416.
This car was bought used and raced on carpet once as a VTA. It won by 2 laps among some very fast racers! It was put immediately on the shelf to be saved as a collector. This car is basically a shaft drive TRF 416 (with the best steering).
Car ran only on carpet. No scratches. The bottom has a small spot that the previous owner said it was accidentally burned by a solder iron. No performance disadvantage and minor visually.
