No offense or anything, but $400 isn't going to get you something that's track ready. Figure a good used buggy will set you back $200-$250, a good radio at least $100, and a motor about $200. Then you have to add servos to that, and when racing 1/8th scale cheap servos ARE NOT the way to go. A good racing set up is gonna cost you $600-$700 easy, and that's using mostly used equipment. I can tell you now that someone who has a good racing set up that they put $1500 would rather let it sit in thier basement before letting it go for $400. The way my buggy sits right now i wouldn't let it go for less then $500, and that's WITHOUT a radio. Again, not trying to be a dick, just giving you fair warning.

I almost went with a cheap set-up i bought off a buddy, Kyosho sp2 with a os. 21 VG with a jp3 pipe.

I sold it all made a 150 on it and picked up a 8 2.0, full digital servos, $150 pipe etc. I just need a engine.

you can do it cheap but honestly you would be better off saving up some more money to get some good stuff. In racing you don't really upgrade you replace.

so unless you find something really cheap that you can flip and not lose money on then do it that way, but otherwise just spend alil more. Try to always buy once.
