Spaz Stix Chrome help
I've been wanting to paint some bodies with SpazStix chrome, but the local guys I've seen use it are having it flake off. I hear there are certain steps to do it correctly, but I'm having trouble finding the correct method in a search. Can anyone that has used it successfully point me in the right direction please?

Thanks for the response. I'll steer clear of it.

Thanks again!

I've used spazstix chrome on several bodies with no flaking issues so far. I just do the usual prep of washing the body. Spray on a few coats of chrome, let it dry well, and then back with createx or faskolor black.

Spaz
Hi
I am a painter so I have no experience running the machines where chipping etc. may occur. However, I have painted a few hundred bodies with Spaz Stix Mirror Chrome. I have not had a single customer complaint about Spaz Chrome chipping or pealing, rubbing off etc.
There seems to be confusion with how to properly apply this paint. Body prep is very important as this paint will show finger prints etc. if not cleaned properly.
Spray Spaz as you would any other paint in thin coats. Build up the layers until the chrome is OPAQUE, hold it up to a light, looking at it from the inside not the outside and you'll see if it opaque.
Now you can "BACK" the chrome with any acrylic color. This is to protect the chrome as you paint the rest of the body. If not backed you can easily rub off or scratch the chrome.
When the body is completely painted you now "SEAL" the body. Until the body is sealed it is very easy to damage. I use Parma Faskote Sealer but there are probably others that will protect the chrome body.
Here's a few pics of one I just finished, Patriots Super Bowl Champs. The main body color is Spaz Chrome. The second picture was taken in the shade so you can better see the chrome. In the bright sun it reflects the sky making the chrome look like a blue color

I use Spaztix chrome and have no issues - light coats building up and I also mist coat each area to be painted with the Spaztix surface prep through an airbrush as well. This helps any Spaztix paint bond and also is great at stopping static or ghost farts as people like to call it lol

Ok. I got some alclad and it's flaking off like crazy. Not sure what I did wrong.
Looked good at first:
This is where i put heat tape in side and I pushed out an air bubble. Then, the bubble pulled back and pulled the paint off.

FYI, I cleaned the body with simple green and I used the spray can labeled for lexan. It said to back with a water based black, so I used faskolor black.
