Rust-o-leum enamal... not the high performance stuff, just the regular kind. Clear, white or black work. I mostly use the white...

Wait till at least the next morning after letting Faskolor cure before you spray it, just to be safe. I have done it sooner, though, without any kind of reaction.

I've used the crystal clear stuff before too but I think that rustoleum truck bed liner works better. IT does add a little weight though. Wait until the next day to apply and do very light coats.

After painting for a while I still haven't really settled on a backer. I find myself sealing lexan depending on the weather and the application.

If it's sunny outside and you're using nitro: I use rustoleum crystal clear or truck bed liner. The truck bed liner is cool in the fact it actually fuses itself to the paint (melts) and I can usually make the bedliner stuff lighter in weight because I need less to be happy with appearance of the seal.

If it's rainy I usually hold off on sealing nitro bodies but have a few people that actually prefer Faskolor Faskote. I swear about 2011 the stuff used to be much harder and bulletproof back then. They had to have changed the formula because it doesn't get rock hard anymore...now it cures more like epoxy tacky.

I`m also looking for a backer. I have tried Transparant Base from autoair. It only works for 90% and you have to make a very thick layer, so i`m searching. Unfortunately rustoleum truck bed liner is not for sale in the netherlands and the shipping cost from America to the Netherlands are unreal.

Knars22:... Don't they sell "plasticote" over there? That's what Jon from RCS uses to coat his stuff I think. He's in the UK.

Shoooooo goooo. And aluminum heat tape along the pipe area. Bodies are much more durable and last a lot longer, and the goo protects from fuel. Best two do while the body is still un-used. Only downside might be a little extra weight, but in 1/8 in makes no difference

Shoo Goo can harm the paint, I have seen it happen. Rustoleum basic or bedliner works the best. I apply it about a hour after. If there is a high wear area on the body, nothing really can prevent it.

I have never had shoe goo do anything to the paint whatsoever in 6 years of doing it...

Maybe if you only do one thin layer of paint? Or don't prep your bodies well.

I personally have not had it happen I don't use shoo goo, sh*ts messy. My friend had put it on and the paint started to bubble. Not sure if it was backed or not, I wasn't into painting then, but it did happen. If he reads this maybe he can chime in.

Can anyone confirm if the Rustoleum will be ok to back a paint job done with Spazstix since its not water based like faskolor?

Spazstix needs to be backed with faskoat or something else prior to rustoleum. Its a bit of a pain and with the chrome "can", not always, fog it a little

I have backed Spaz Stix with clear rustoleum without issue. I would wait 24 hours for sure, before backing, to make sure Spaz Stix is fully cured.
