Default Createx question

This is my 1st attempt at airbrushing a lexan body. I picked up a couple different colors of Createx airbrush paint at my local hobby store. I washed the inside of my body with warm water and dish soap, dried with a clean towel. I did a test area on a cutoff and after the paint has dried, I can scrape the paint off with my fingernail. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a paint that will adhere better??

BTW I did 3 light coats and let it dry overnight. Scraped off pretty easy.

Thanks!!

water base paint is soft until it is backed with a sealer. I back all my bodies with a light coat of rustoilum painters touch flat white then one coat of clear.

Yup. Rust-o-leum crystal clear enamel. I spray it with the window masks off. Windows will dry "crystal clear". Prolly a good idea on a nitro car as fuel could get into the paint at the windows if the whole thing isn't sealed.

Not sure if needed, but I usually wait till at least the next day to seal.

FWIW, when you spray clear, you wanna do one light dusting, let it flash, then go heavy wet. Not so much that it runs, though, but enough that it looks smooth. That is the best way to get a truly clear finish. Many light coats of clear will just get you a shiny matte finish mess that dirt will wanna stick to.

Make sure to have Createx dried properly before you back it with Rustoleum sealer.

I back my work with 3 coats of Rustoleum white gloss enamel. Leaves a nice finish and makes the colors pop more.
