Default First paint job.

I just finished my first paint job but have a question about backing. I just found a great article and haven't had a chance to read it yet. But my question is when your painting more than one color do you only paint the area you want in that color and stay off of the other colors? I started with the green then the silver and finished with the orange. But as I was doing the orange I went over pretty much the entire body. Is that bad?

If you don't back your colors with enough coats you will see "overspray" through the colors. ie. I had a body I painted silver in the early stages and thought I had enough coats sprayed and I did not back the silver. Well when I sprayed the next color when the body is in the light you can see some color behind the silver. Not horrible but best to avoid it. Hope that helps.

See if this link works...at the back end where it is red...you can see the red through the silver..and no its not reflection

That is nice. I can't really tell or see anything bad with it. Maybe cause I'm using my phone but I still think it looks good. What I did with mine was go over the green areas with the orange and pretty much the entire body. After the orange I let it dry over night and added some with to protect the orange and back all of the paint. It looks OK but still need more practice.

So this is it on the SCTE just need to place the decals and I got a special made decal coming probably by monday or tuesday. The only thing I dont like is I pressed to hard on the knife when I was cutting the mask outline. You can see the cut lines.

Did you draw the skull on the back? If so I can't wait to see how your skills develop.

I wish I drew that I was thinking of trying to trace the Avenged Sevenfold Deadbat but I just bought a decal and placed it on top of the body.
